We loved our time at the cheeky monkey lodge snd can absolutely recommend this place- the whole team is super friendly and dedicated to making your stay perfect. Our two-day, one-night jungle trek was amazing, guided by Coco, who made sure we spotted so many monkeys and several orangutans and other wildlife like birds and insects. This experience was just incredible. Camping overnight in the heart of the jungle was thrilling, the beds were comfy and the food was so yummy (and there is a lot) and the dinner in the jungle was our best food we had so far in indonesia. If you're looking for adventure and great hospitality, this is the place to be! Thanks to the amazing team for making our time in the jungle unforgettable!

We recently had the most amazing stay at the Cheeky Monkey Lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Our driver, Tondi, gave us a warm welcome and ensured we arrived safely. Instantly, we felt like we were among friends with Adi and the entire team. We did the 2D1N trek, and our guide, Coco, was incredible—spotting so many monkeys and orangutans made the experience unforgettable. The food throughout our stay was exceptional, thanks to Hamsa and Chef Elli. Elli is truly the queen of the kitchen! When she found out it was my birthday, she surprised us with a cake pop, which made the day even more special. After the trek, we stayed at the lodge, which had a laid-back vibe, comfortable rooms, and outstanding food. The entire team made sure we had the time of our lives. I’m so glad we booked with them after doing thorough research. If you’re looking for great company, an amazing guide, and an unforgettable jungle trekking experience, this is the place to be! Highly recommend.

We really loved the place!!! Its just a 15 min walk to the Center of Bukit but we enjoyed because of the garden and space you have outside.. The people of Cheeky Monkey are so welcoming and powerful. Elli made us laugh and feel happy with her smile in the morning. Andre, Ade,Santa, Coco and all of the cheeky monkey family crew gave us the feeling of being home. The kids loved to play with them and they took time to make music, sing and fool around with the kids.From the hostel you walk 5 minutes to the river to swim and cool down and get to know people from the village. They also offer guided tours to the jungle which is nice because they are a fantastic family team. We extended our stay because the kids felt loved and happy😊

We stayed here for two nights either side of a jungle trek. The owners organised airport pick up and drop off for us as well as sorting out shoes for the jungle trek - we used the shoes the guides wear as they are better for grip and around 2GBP a pair! They were very responsive to our messages and just lovely in general. The delux double room was a great size with a big bathroom and nice outdoor space. The food was really tasty and very reasonably priced and the staff did everything they could to make you feel comfortable. On our last night, there was a power cut and Coco played guitar for us to keep us entertained - it was really lovely. It is also set on the river and has a garden that can be enjoyed by the guests. Our guides on the trek were Coco and Santa, both were amazing, helping us along the way and really making sure we were ok. This property is set on the outside of town and around 20 minute walk, this didn't bother us as it was quieter. Overall, we would stay here again.

One of the rooms we had was a budget room with a shared bathroom, the bathroom was outside and my sister mentioned that it was full of bugs/flying insects especially at night making it not ideal to use so she ended up using our shower - making this more secure/door being kept shut etc could help. We know it is the jungle and some wildlife is 100% to be to be expected but this was quite excessive when compared with other bathrooms on the property. We weren't aware there is another shared bathroom in the main building which was very clean and would have been better suited.

Das Cheeky Monkeys liegt etwas ausserhalb sehr ruhig in einem schönen Garten. Der Staff ( Elli in der Küche, Adi, der Organiser, Rian und Sarol, die Dschungelguides …) waren sehr herzlich und kompetent und immer für uns da . Die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet, Ellis Essen ist sehr lecker! Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt! Vielen Dank

The small hotel is situated in a quiet area of Bukit Lawang, the main road is 10 min away by foot. The rooms have view of the garden and the jungle. There are hammocks and seating areas in the garden to relax. The best of the resort are the people, from the guides, to the cook and the manager. The food was delicious (we ate only the Indonesian food, I can not rate the other one). The organised tours in the jungle and the cultural tour were excellent. The pick up from the airport was smooth and at a fair price. The answers to the questions before our arrival were prompt. Thank you Cheeky Monkey for the great time in Bukit Lawang!
