The old lady who runs the place is so lovely , very helpful and the room was great very traditional Japanese guesthouse good price with a great location

Last minute trip for snowboarding late season. The location is as best as you can get to the Ski lifts via the moving walkway and next to the famous free historic onsens. The owner is a wonderful and charming lady who was born in the guesthouse. How amazing history and family heritage is that? So wonderful of her. It is a traditional Japanese house and expect that experience with the sleeping and showering situation. There are also convenient small lockers for valuables you can store. Also a garage for your skis and snowboard equipment.

Since it was my first time to Nozawaonsen, it is a little confusing to navigate the historic village and the traditional guest house does not have an English name outside, so I had to look and match the Japanese symbols/letters on one of the pictures (that is a drawing and not a photo) of the guesthouse. No problem, I was confused for 15 mins outside. I only stayed one night, so the internet kept not working on my iPhone and iPad. If I had stayed longer, I would ask for help. I was too busy enjoying snowboarding, eating and onsen, so I didn’t bring up the matter.

The host is really nice, clean and comfort. Excellent location.

No common space/area at all Nowhere to sit in your room Toilets unheated and downstairs Futon bedding didn’t seem to be especially clean or long enough for my height (178cm)

The location is great. Simple but clean accomodation. Owners are very helpful.

It was right at the end of Yu Road and in town.
