Absolutely amazing stay and our favorite for our 12 days in Iceland. The property is beautiful and you can see the love and care that has been put into it. The beds and pillows are very comfortable! We also really enjoyed the location and the access to all the sites on the peninsula. Knutur and Leana are fabulous hosts and we couldn’t have asked for more (well maybe another day or two!)

Pretty location, isolated

My friend and I stayed one night at the end of May, and I wish it could have been longer. The guesthouse is a delight and super interesting if you have even a passing interest in architecture. The location is close to everything you could want to see on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, but remote and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and the common spaces were modern and welcoming. The breakfast that morning was delicious (and I wish I could have gotten that spice bread recipe!). But the best part was the hosts who have obviously put so much time and effort into creating this place. They were welcoming, friendly and so incredibly helpful, and the advice they offered for our drive down from Húsavik and for our day on the peninsula l changed our plans for the better. We are already planning to return next year and spend more than a night at this amazing guesthouse and continue exploring this great location.

The road leading to the property gets muddy in the rain and takes a hot minute.

Drangar Country Guesthouse is absolutely stunning. It’s by far the best property we have stayed at in Iceland. The estate is breathtakingly beautiful and the attention to detail takes Drangar to a level on its on. The owner Knutur was an absolute delight and the consummate host. Unfortunately during our stay his wife Leana was away but I conversed with her early in our booking and she too was helpful and responsive to my every request.
