Villa Forti

As other have mentioned, this property has STUNNING views over Lake Albano which is certainly the highlight. It is relatively well-equipped with a washing machine and small kitchen, though some essentials (such as sugar, salt, coffee etc) in the kitchen wouldn’t go astray. There was some water in the fridge (which was appreciated), but nothing else - so come equipped! The location is very convenient, located between the station and the Centre, making traversing between the two on foot relatively simple. That being said, it is on quite a steep hill so those with mobility issues or young children may certainly be challenged by the mount of uphill walking (on cobblestones, with steps) required. We visited in summer and enjoyed a visit to Lake Albano for a swim, which was a convenient 5 minute drive away.

The only slight hiccup was issues with the power. It seems to be a problem with the fuse box as we lost power to part of the house more than once (including the air conditioner) making sleep difficult.

Location is amazing! Property suitable for a family of four with all necessities.

Exceptional location. Lake view from terrace. Train station few minutes from villa, easy to reach Rome by train in less than hour. Castel Gandolfo center just 5 minutes climb to the hill with Vatican gardens museum. Villa itself looks as museum.

Climbing with luggages from car parking location to villa is a test for your fitness. A fan in the room is a thing, but air conditioning would be better.

It’s a spacious room overlooking a nice garden. It’s fine if you are just looking for a place to stay because it does not have the facilities or usual services that a hotel offers.

It does not have air conditioning, poorly lit and not impressed with the overall look.

We stayed in a self contained apartment with all the essentials provided. Large area with washing machine, everything you need to cook if desired and plenty of linens etc. the Apartment is up high and you get a spectacular view of Lake Albano. the apartment is a 5 min walk to train station, so an easy day trip to Rome. there are back steps (plenty of them! but quite beautiful) that take you up to Castel Gandolfo town with restaurants, cafes and the Pope's summer house.

The couple with us rented the garden view room, it was unfortunately very dark, quite small and limited kitchen essentials. the price difference between larger apartment and their room was minimal, so it was a disappoint for them.

Excellent location, wonderful view of the lake, very nice room, free parking, friendly host. Easy 5 mins hike to town centre for amenities and food.

Wifi sometimes a bit weak in my room.
