Hotel had a very homely feel, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the onsen was great. We had a room with the balcony overlooking the main entrance so had a reasonable view of the snow falls, and it was also very quiet.

Breakfast selection was limited and ordering 24 hours in advance for dinner and deciding what meal was required off the menu was not ideal. However apparently this is the norm at a majority of in house restaurants at hotels.

For budget accommodation this place definitely impressed us. The service from the owners/staff was amazing and gave us a more personal experience, however not much english speaking. Breakfast was great, even more so for the price. A great choice if you prefer simple and traditional over fancy/luxury.

Cleanliness lacked in a few areas but the overall vibe certainly made up for this
