A place with history, beautiful views and proximity to the train station and in walking distance to the centre of Prato.

A good alternative for a stay in Florence, which is only a 20 minute train ride away. Nice to have a bathtub for a change. Beautiful view of Prato from the balcony.

Breakfast was a little sober compared to other stays in Italy.

Peaceful and quiet location in the greenery on the side of the mountain with beautiful views of the surroundings and Prato. Nice old dignified furniture, memorabilia decorating the rooms, paintings on the walls. The opportunity to be in a beautiful full of history living room and dining room. Breakfast was tasty, delicious pastries, cakes, good coffee, orange juice, yogurt, apples, pears. Nice and helpful hostess Veronica.

The owner is a great host and runs a beautiful B&B in her astonishingly situated ancestral home, err, mansion. The views are breathtaking and the surroundings are very quiet but Prato is still very reachable.

You can do your laundry, just be sure you have a day to let it dry because there's no dryer (we found out the hard way on our one-night stay 🙈). That was our fault though and no detriment to the host!

Prato is a city with remarkable architecture and atmosphere. We encourage anyone who hasn't visited to do so. The Locanda Golicia hotel is located about half an hour's walk outside the historic city center. This is not a disadvantage if you have a car. The hotel is quiet and peaceful and has private parking. The hostess is an intelligent and kind woman who is ready to provide any necessary assistance to her guests. The breakfast was good, and the coffee, of course, excellent, Italian style. We are grateful to the hostess for her kind reception and her attitude towards us. Nina & Zdravko

The hotel is not quite close to the historical centre of Prato, but it was clear when we were booking. Having a car (as was in our case), this is not a problem.

The view

The road to the house, the bathroom not in the room, really old house and room, lots of muskitos. Poor breakfast

It was an unforgettable place to visit. The hotel provides the opportunity to feel the Italian atmosphere in a private home from the end of the 20th century. The bedroom and the bed itself was big enough and with a small balcony. The breakfast room was a place to rest and to enjoy the Italian culture in every detail of its furniture. The owner was serving us as old relatives of her. The garden with olive trees was wonderful. We'll recommend this place to all friends of us, who going to visit Prato&Florence.

I couldn't recommend anything more for this property! We didn't like the short time we spent in this hotel. We should give us more days of our Italian trip to be there.
