Yakunoyado Taguchi

The property was well maintained and beautifully decorated. The place was very cosy, and there was plenty of parking. The owners were very accommodating and happy to chat with us. We also had a very delicious breakfast and dinner and definitely plan on staying here again when we visit Yakushima.

Everything was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The Taguchi family is very kind, they welcomed us warmly, we had nice conversations, and they gave us really spot-on tips about Yakushima. The house is located among the nature but still only a 1-2 minute drive from the ferry port (from the airport it takes 15-20 minutes). The house is new, cosy, and very clean. The rooms are basic, but very clean and the futons are comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and felt very comfortable. The meals are stunning - delicious and healthy. The wine list is better than in most restaurants in Japan - we enjoyed quite a few of them. We would like to go back again to Yakushima and definitely stay again with the Taguchi family.

We loved everything. The only one not so good thing that comes to my mind is that one night there was a big group staying and they were quite loud, so as soon as they woke up and went out of their rooms, we were woken up by the noise too.

Softer seat cushions in the room would be nice, otherwise, no complaints!

Hitomi and Shigeru were amazing hosts ! They also provided a lot of advice on what to do & see and the recommended snorkeling with Manami was a blast ! Delicious breakfast and dinner, nice room and a perfect location in Miyanoura.

The hosts went above and beyond during my stay. They were so sweet and helpful! My stay was beautiful, clean, and calm.

The stay at Yakunoyado was very harmonious and relaxing. Hitomi and Shigeru are nice hosts. Hitomi is not only a loving, humorous and warm person but also a great cook. Every day she conjures up delicious dishes, beautifully arranged. Yakunoyado is beautifully located, in the middle of nature. The house offers a quiet ambience, beautiful and cozy rooms, clean sanitary facilities. Shigeru offers reliable and safe transfer to the port. The house is in a good location, after a short walk (15 minutes) you can reach the bus stop or the shopping center.

The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. They offered very good recommendations for food on the island including one of the best dining experiences I have every had! The hosts also offer cooking for you at the residence- which we did not do but regret not trying this out.

Taguchi’s house is a wonder in the middle of a wonder island. The house is fantastic , very confortable and zen. Taguchis host are a lovely couple always open to Help. They are in love with their island And happy to share about it. Ms Taguchi is an amazing cook. Be sure to eat there. We will be back
