The owners were lovely. The breakfast was easily the best I had while in Japan! A very nice onsen is a 30 second walk away. The beds were comfy and the space suitable for the 3 people we had. We loved our stay!

Make sure you can handle an uphill warm up hike to the gondola. If you cannot, check the map and look for closer proximity places. Our group appreciated the warm up.

"Fine stay near mountain"

The room was basic and mat was very comfortable. The owner gave shower caddies to use for local onsens. I do think the price was much higher than other local spots.

The rooms heater makes noise all night. The owner kept saying “no” when we’d ask for the breakfast the next day. Only when we left did the owner seem nice.

"Lovely stay in NOZAWAONSEN"

We loved our stay at Tobei. Conveniently located in the village close to restaurants and the ski hill. The place is clean and we loved the breakfast. Would love to stay again in the future!
