The lookout lodge

A lovely place in the quiet part of Tanglle. We booked at the last minute and they were ready for us with an early check-in early and a very nice welcome drink. The owner Gintarė and manager Chami were very helpful, organising transport to The other side of Tanglle and to Mirissa. The wetlands near the lodge had many birds which was a bonus. Highly recommended.

We stayed here in October. It was absolutely the most wonderful place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Felt like we walked into paradise! The whole place has a peaceful vibe. The garden and swimming pool are just lovely. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is walking distance from the most beautiful beach and the owner is so incredibly friendly. We only booked one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely a place we want to go back to!

We loved everything

Very pretty 4-bedroom house. The pool is very well maintained. Good breakfast which changes everyday.

24$ a dinner for 2... it's indecent when you know that you can dine right next door to a very good local cuisine for 5$. Like many establishments in Sri Lanka, the owner is foreign. This makes the experience less exotic. Do not expect a homestay since no one lives there.

This was the most beautiful place we stayed in our whole vacation in Sri Lanka. The room and bathroom were very big and clean and just perfect, the pool is an amazing assat also. But the most important thing is that the hosts, Gintare and Chami, were extremly frendly and helpful. They fulfilled our every wish. The food they prepared for us was also the best we ever had. We can not recommend this place enough!

The staff are friendly and willing to make your stay a pleasant one. Pool was nice and the nights were quiet. Food was excellent. Would stay again.

The Lookout Lodge is simply amazing. It’s an oasis which has been developed with much love and care. The people running it are wonderful, the rooms are clean and stylish and the swimming pool is perfect. It’s a 5 minute walk to the (empty) beach and a 10 min walk to the turtle rescue center. It only has four rooms so it’s quiet and private. You have a unique view of the lagoon with all kinds of animals, and peacocks that love to use the roof of the lodge!

It was a beautiful building, very comfortable, wonderful view; so many lovely birds, enormous balcony, very nice room, lovely bathroom. I felt like a queen. Clean beach near by! Everyone was extremely nice and very helpful!

One of the best experiences in Sri lanka trip within 3 weeks. Amazing place, not only appartment but all Rekava. Definately one of the most underrated places in Sri lanka. If you are in doubts - you definately should go there. Peace, silence, nature, ocean, turtles, amazing people - this is Rekava. Lookout lodge is excelent accomodation - new house, all clean and comfy, perfect location near the beach and turtle watch center. Good restaurant nearby (reccomended by Chami). Excelent breakfast and peacefull conversations with owner. We felt like home there and all our wishes were fulfilled with smile. And - there is a pool now - we where the first users and it is great. Appriciated by our boys. Sorry that we booked just 2 nights there, would have liked to stay at least a couple more days. Nothing, we allready miss this place. This is true Sri lanka.

Functional shower in the bathroom, boiler for heating water.

Lots of ants in the bathroom on the first day. After complaining, the staff used a spray and promised to clean up the next day. But that didn't happen and we had dead ants there for the rest of our stay (3 nights). Breakfast was poor, portions like for a small child. On the last day, when the manager came, the breakfast was better, but we still had to ask for bread for the omelet.. We had to ask for milk for the coffee. Noisy air conditioning. We had to turn it off at night and only use the fan..No value for money...
