Pekoe Lodge

Our recent one-night stay at Pekoe Lodge in Sri Lanka was outstanding. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by lush scenery and tranquil views. What truly set this place apart was the exceptional hospitality; the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring a memorable experience. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge. Although our visit was short, the impression of serenity and kindness from the staff will bring us back. I highly recommend Pekoe Lodge for a rejuvenating escape in nature. A solid 9 out of 10 for a nearly flawless experience.

Beautiful location right on the lake. Maskeliya is a lovely little town with a lot of great things to do in the surrounding area (Sri Pada, tea plantations, Gartmore Falls). Mountain View rooms were spacious and well equipped. Ishara and her husband, Yugantha, were fantastic hosts - they took care of our every need (e.g., organising transport, tours, food preferences), always with a smile on their face. Yugantha’s food was always delicious, especially his rice and curry.

The key reason to stay here is the fabulous view over the lake to Adam's Peak. The staff are helpful and friendly.

The building is a slightly bizarre design and is devoid of ambience. The bathroom in my room was scruffy. Loud water pump noises. Although card payments are accepted they charge 3% on top which is not mentioned in the hotel policies on booking.com.

The views across the lake towards Sri Pada from the room balcony are simply stunning. Get this room if you can. The staff could not do enough to make our stay so memorable and positive. They were simply the best.

The open plan reception and dining area meant it could be quite noisy at times.

The view from our room was just incredible. To see Adams peak from our room, which we were there to climb, was amazing. And most of all we loved the hospitality of Ishara and her husband. They were so amazing and made us feel so welcome, as well as sorting us transport to and from Adams peak and onto our next location. Also the food was so delicious some of the best we've had in sri lanka.

Nothing really. There isn't a huge amount to do locally but it's such a lovely location it doesn't matter really.

The place is nice and has a beautiful lake view, but what truly elevated our stay was the exceptional service, particularly the kindness and helpfulness of Ishara.

The rooms are not soundproof, yet. I hope they are working on it (The upstairs rooms are probably quieter)

I stayed at this accommodation attracted by its promising location and stunning views. However, my experience was disappointing. The place lacked cleanliness; sticky floors and a grimy table for glasses and cups were notable issues. The bathroom had mold, and there was a leaking ceiling. Dinner was another letdown, as we received the wrong order, and the food quality was mediocre. The kottu tasted old. Overall, the promising location and views were overshadowed by cleanliness and service issues.

Ishara and her husband were so lovely and organised my transport to and from Adam’s peak aswell as to my next destination making everything so easy! The food and location was great and they even upgraded my room which was super lovely! I highly recommend booking the room with the view of the lake!! I will definitely come back again !
