Good quality/price ratio and very close to the beach :)

We stayed at Thatched Villa for one night as we wanted to explore both Secret Beach and Goyambokka Beach. The location is excellent — just a 2-minute walk to Goyambokka Beach and around 12 minutes to Secret Beach. We personally preferred Goyambokka, especially when travelling with children, as the water is much calmer and safer. Secret Beach, on the other hand, tends to have rougher waves. The owners, a local Sri Lankan family, were extremely friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciate.

Unfortunately, the room itself was a big disappointment. It looked nothing like the photos we saw at the time of booking. I raised this with the owners, but it wasn’t possible to get the room we had reserved — and I suspect it may not even exist. The room was very dark, smelled of humidity, and felt extremely hot — more like a cave than a comfortable space. Although there was a new air-conditioning unit, it was positioned directly next to the bed, blowing cold air straight onto us, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. There was also a window, but it faced a solid wall, so no natural light came in and there was no way to properly ventilate the room. Opening the door didn’t help either. The ceiling was very low — just over 2 meters high — which added to the claustrophobic feel. We decided to stay only because it was just for one night, but it turned out to be a sleepless experience for me. I would not recommend this place, especially if you're travelling as a family.

Amazing bungalow, in a beautiful, green area. I extended for 6 nights and would have happily stayed even longer. The room was incredibly comfortable and the covered outside area was ideal, particularly when rainy. Less than 5 minutes to the beach and close to little restaurants.

Very close to Silent Beach. Probably the closest guesthouse to the beach. Lovely breakfast and the best beach we visited in Sri Lanka.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The owner & family are super nice and the beach is one minute away :) There are also lots of restaurants around. I would definitely come again!
