Casa Santaella

Central location, friendly host and good and easy communication. The room was clean and comfortable.

The bathroom smelled a bit due to the pipes, but it was no issue during showering and overall acceptable.

Casa Santaella was a complete haven!! Travelling as a solo woman, I felt completely safe, nurtured and looked after by the wonderful team here. It felt like the perfect place to relax, sit and read in the garden in the mornings with the free coffee and chat & the food was absolutely delicious - some of best I've had (the tuna and the guava cheescake!). The team were so kind and there was a lovely energy to the place. Thank you for looking after me so well, it was so appreciated at that time! It was also 15 mins to the best beach for swimming - Carizalillo beach.

My only issue was the noise of the coca cola delivery opposite. But even so, I would stay here again and again.

The location is in the middle of town. I found all types of food all around. The owners also have a small restaurant and the food is good and fresh. I like to walk so walking to the beach was satisfying. Most will need to rent a scooter. I really liked being away from most of the loud tourist.

If you do not like a rustic location you may want to stay at the expensive hotels. This is a small surfer town. So expect a small town living

Everything is wonderful. I want to LIVE here. Casa Santaella is owned by the sweetest family, and is built on some magical grounds. The topsy turvey building is occupied by multiple cats, and lovely volunteers. (Niya is wonderful). The bedroom we had felt like a castle. The joint kitchen living area is so homely, and having a place to eat outside is glorious. We only stayed one night in the end, but we will be back.

Lovely courtyard, very welcoming hosts, big room with air conditioning and free coffee in the morning.

Floor in the room was still a little bit sandy when we arrived.

The lady that welcomed us was very kind and made us feel welcome immediately. She showed us around and recommended some places. I also love cats so was really pleased to see so many on the property

It’s super expensive for what it is. It’s far away from everything. It’s super loud and we could not sleep because of the trucks and Coca-Cola company next door, and just the traffic in general. We booked two nights but only stayed one. Internet was unstable sometimes
