Douar Samra

Stunning views. Beautiful property with apple, cherry and walnut trees. Flower and vegetable gardens. Jules the mule was a cheeky new friend. Please check their website for accurate descriptions, as the booking.com website does not give full details. The rooms in the main house do not have electricity. This was not an issue, and just added to the charm, with candles for room lighting. Devices can be charged in the kitchen. In room fireplace provides heat in cold weather. There is no vehicle access, so you must be able to walk stairs down to the Douar. Jules the mule carried our bags down for us, but we carried them back up to the road to meet our shuttle driver early on our departure day. Breakfast and dinner are included. Water, wine and beer are extra. The food is good Moroccan cuisine. You can organize hiking guides from the Douar on arrival.

Staff work long days, and the communal dinner wraps up abruptly in the evening. This curtailed conversations with new friends, as we didn't feel we could stay in the dining room (by candlelight). Staff likely just need to ensure candles are all appropriately extinguished before they can go home.

Authentic local barbarian style, clean, excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for hiking. Guide, taxi can be arranged by the Douar Samra team.

The staff were very welcoming. Great location with beautiful views. Dinner was delicious. Lots of spaces to relax. Great value for money. The terrace balconies had incredible views and not too busy. Lots of walking opportunities for all levels. Would recommend the waterfall walk with Omar.

The dining area was incredibly stuffy due to the fireplace having been on with no air. The bedroom my older children shared had no doors on the toilet or shower, so not appropriate for an 18 year old girl sharing with her brothers. The rooms were very very cold in the evening in April.

Eine ganz besondere Unterkunft! Wahnsinn authentisch! Es gibt so viel zu entdecken, überall andere tolle Plätze, Terrassen, Sonnenliegen… Wir haben es geliebt! Das Personal ist ehrlich herzlichen und das Dinner war ein Genuss!!!

J’ai tout aimé comme d’habitude. Je remercie Mohammed et Omar, qui sont toujours à l’écoute et pour leur bon accueil.
