Douar Samra

We appreciated the good, tasty food at communal meals, where we also met other guests. The tree house offered big, very comfortable beds and a lovingly designed interior.

Unfortunately, the experience was let down by several issues. The check-in process was confusing (they couldn’t find our Booking for quite some time), and communication via Booking and email was unreliable. Communication on site was sometimes difficult due to limited language proficiency by staff in French and English. We booked a hiking guide through Douar Samra. The guide was more expensive than advertised in the brochure in the rooms and was not very informative, with little focus on guest experience. Despite having shared our desired tours well in advance, we were repeatedly encouraged to switch plans for no apparent reason (e.g. weather). Meals often felt rushed, and lunch pricing was also higher than advertised. While the owner is warm and welcoming, she is not operationally involved, which may contribute to these inconsistencies.

La bouffe n'était pas à la hauteur de nos attentes IL n'y avait pas d'électricité dans la chambre, le concept est comme ça, on fournit une vingtaine de bougies mais on ne s'y attendait pas pour prendre nos dispositions à l'avance

L accueuil est toujours aussi chaleureux, la literie toujours aussi confortable. Jacqueline toujours fidèle au poste. Depuis des années le lieu est toujours aussi bien entretenu. Petite perle du Haut Atlas à recommander vivement

De ligging is fenomenaal! Prachtige setting met zicht op de besneeuwde toppen. Supersfeervol met de vele kaarsjes en het haardvuur s avonds. Heerlijk eten ...
