Roy's Villa

Roy and his team take care of everything, all the activities and outings are arranged for you. great atmosphere created, family dinners in the evening make for a very sociable stay. The cooking class was an unexpected bonus, learnt how to make Veggie dahl and Jackfruit curry from scratch!

Brilliant place, best facilities in any hostel I’ve stayed at. Super friendly staff who know your name after a couple of hours. Great trips, dinners etc. extremely social but also space to chill by yourself.

Everything at the bar is in dollars not local currency but you must pay at the end in local currency.

Roy and all the people from Roys villa are so amazing. Best hostel of sri lanka for us. The activities, the place, the people. It is all perfect. 🙌🏻

This is an amazing hostel. The staff were amazing and there were so many great activities organised every day for all the travellers. The elephant safari is a must! The food/family dinners were incredible! Very sociable but also pretty chilled out vibe. Beautiful wild peacocks roaming the area. The dorm room was comfortable and spacious.

Mosquitos were a real problem (I got eaten alive!) so make sure you have a good repellent. The area is secluded so no proper shops or ATM within walking distance - come with everything you will need. (If not the hostel will gladly arrange a tuktuk for you!)

Roy and his staff were exceptionally welcoming, it was sociable and I felt included instantly. there were activities daily, group meals and arranged hikes to all the places you would consider visiting. Highly recommend.

Probably the best place we have ever stayed. We loved everything! Roy and the team go above and beyond to make it a special experience for everyone. The private room was super comfortable and clean and a mosquito net was provided - air con worked great. The family dinners and excursions were just amazing and the food and drink was delicious. We loved chilling out on the top floor too. We don't often stay in hostels and this was better than most hotels! We will be back!

Great location, great vibe and great people. Probably the best place to stay in Sri Lanka.

Had a great experience at Roy’s Villa. Extremely sociable with friendly staff who go out of their way help guests. Lots of organised activities and the delicious meals are great for bringing people together - as a solo traveller I had no issues meeting people here. The dorms are some of the nicest I’ve stayed in anywhere and are very well thought out. The common areas are also great for relaxing during the day. Thoroughly recommend!
