Roy's Villa

Roy and his team are perfect hosts. They make you feel very welcome, food and drinks are great plus there’s a different activity schedule everyday. Rooms are clean and spacious, loved the outdoor shower. We had a great time!

Best hostel I have stayed at - all the activities organised and daily family dinner were amazing, made it feel like home and met the best people!

The most AMAZING place to stay!! It was clean, comfortable and well designed. The staff went above and beyond to make it a fantastic experience - they have daily activities organised that you can join in with if you want including safari, sunrise hikes, cooking classes. Perfect for a solo traveller like me. They organise transport to take you to different locations if needed. The place is beautiful! Couldn’t recommend it enough. No where else I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka has come close to this place!!

A lovely clean and friendly hotel to start our trip to Sri Lanka.

The property it self is so beautiful and comfortable. The dorm rooms are lovely and private. Family dinners are delicious! Staff is so friendly and make you feel at home.

Overall I found it so expensive. Since you’re isolated away from anything else, they can charge the prices they do (because you have no other choice). If you ate somewhere else or did an activity not provided by them, they became really defensive and question why you did that… haha. This place is not for the budget backpackers!! My wallet was crying by the end of my stay.

Everything was fantastic and everybody should stay here! Great facilities, best food I’ve eaten so far and a brilliant atmosphere to meet great people (inc the staff) and experience great activities organised by the team here.

I am usually not a hostel kind of person but this one came highly recommended so thought I’d give it a go and I’m so glad I did! From arrival to departure the staff were amazing, giving me a free welcome drink and a free snack for my onward journey. The activities were so so good from sunset and sunrise walks to the elephant wildlife safari. The food was amazing and great portion sizes. The beds were comfortable. But what I loved the most was the upstairs lounge area, it had beautiful views and was the perfect spot to relax and read. I would absolutely stay here again.

I loved being surrounded by nature so this wasn’t an issue for me but just be aware if you’re hoping for a walk into sigirya it is quite far out.
