Roy's Villa

Our experience at Roy’s was incredible- the staff were so friendly and immediately made us feel welcome and even helped us plan the rest of our trip! They offer loads of great activities, would particularly recommend the sunrise hike. Roy has made a lovely atmosphere, feels like a big family :)

Roy's Villa is such a special place - Roy and his friends have created such a beautiful community and I felt so welcomed there. Everyone I met (both staff and other travellers) were so nice. There has been a lot of care and effort put into decorating and landscaping - it feels like such an oasis. I loved the upstairs lounge area where you can just hang out on the beanbags and hammocks while overlooking green fields. The food was great, and quite reasonably priced. I loved the activities they organised, especially the elephant safari trip. It was also nice that there were some free activities you could do. I hope that this becomes the new standard for accommodation - it was just great. Thanks Roy and the whole team for the wonderful work you're doing!

The dorm that I was staying in was a little different to the pictures, however honestly it was still a very nice dorm and I was very comfortable.

Beautiful property in a serene setting. I felt a calmness come over me as soon as I arrived having initially been a bit nervous as a first time solo traveller. Every staff member is kind and attentive, often suggesting additions to your travel route or tips for making life a little easier! Roy and Roshun are open to suggestions and are actively trying to make this the best hostel

The hostel is a little bit more pricey all things considered and it can be a little confusing with all prices in USD but once you’re aware of that it’s fine!

This was definitely the highlight of our trip! Everything at Roy’s was amazing, the room, the staff, the food, the people we met there and all the activities organised by Roy’s team. Thank you for making our time in Sigiriya a memorable one. Bonus: best chai I had in Sri Lanka! Davina & Houmayra
