Roy's Villa

The dorms were very spacious and modern! Super social atmosphere, very friendly staff I like how they organized every activity and made sure everyone had a wonderful time! I couldn’t ask for more 😍👍🏽 The best hostel Ive ever been so far ( globally it’s ranked as one of the best hostels, i guess in 2020 they won the best hostel in the world, i can definitely see why)

Best people! So kind, so helpful. They have created a magical place in the middle of Sigirya. Highlight of traveling through Sri Lanka. Rooms are beautiful and so comfortable. They organise activities who can’t be missed!

Had such an amazing stay at Roy’s, it is a very special place. Rooms are amazing and so clean. Really great atmosphere and a great place to meet other travelers. The family dinner is so great you get to try loads of curries and make one during the cooking class. The trips during the day were great we were able to do everything on our list as Roy’s organise a morning and evening activity which means planing what you want to see/do is easy. Would highly recommend the place and staff are amazing! ✨

Nothing everything ing was great

We loved everything about Roys Villa. Best place ever. Perfect balance of relaxing by the pool and adventuring in the incredible places nearby. Loads of things to do and see around. Firstly the staff were incredible, made our whole trip seamless. Organised everything with local sightseeing. A big special thank you to everyone there, incredible team! There is a great local feel to Roys Villa, which you feel when you are enjoying the local foods, playing the local board games and getting insider tips for your journey. There is a lot of good here, they do a lot of community work and giving back to the community. As locals themselves, they make sure they look after everyone around them. The food was absolutly amazing, so much variety. incredible Si Lankan food. The room was incredible, huge bed that was so comfortable. Air con was great and kept the room perfect temperature. The outdoor shower and bathroom was so nice. Magical ! The balcony was very comfortable with a beautiful view out over the trees. With a net balcony that was so nice to sum lounge and read in. The place is very peaceful. We saw so many birds from the upper balcony, we spent hours watching out, pelicans, storks, eagles, kites and more! Do not miss out on Roys Villa! We would come back to Sri Lanka just to stay here again!

I really liked the rooms and the food. They also offer free trips and the vibe is really nice. Everyone is like one big family. You also can join for a safari trip, cooking classes and every night there is a family dinner.

It was a bit more pricy than normal hostels in Sri Lanka but still not expensive.

We liked just everything about our stay, Roy and his friends who are running the Villa were absolutely amazing, they did everything to make the most out of everyone's stay. All the activities are great, not only the main sights in Sigiriya, but also things like making coconut bowls or a sunset tour to a small, local temple. They create an incomparable atmosphere and make everyone interact with each other, the family dinner every night is such a great thing to socialize. And the food is so yummy! On top, the whole place is spotlessly clean and the rooms are beautiful (especially the outdoor showers). Everyone who travels to Sri Lanka should visit their place - it is even a reason to come to Sri Lanka ;-) It was the best hostel we ever stayed at - by far.

Staying at Roy's was the best hostel experience I've had so far. The hostel is beautiful and the people are amazing. They're so friendly en super helpful. It's a very sociable hostel, ideal for solo travellers, couples or small friend groups. They organise a lot of activities and every night there's a family dinner where all the guests eat together. A bit more pricy than the average hostel but definitely worth the money.

Roys Villa is the best place I have stayed on my travels. From the family dinners at night to the arranged activities during the day. It’s spotless clean and super comfortable. I would recommend Roy’s to all of my friends and family. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. I really loved the tours given by the staff they were really informative. 10/10, we will be back!
