Kande Gedara Resort (කන්දෙ ගෙදර)

Staying was Michael was simply amazing. We did a little jungle tour, went to the market together and he showed us how to cook some delicious Sri Lankan Curries. Everything was super clean and even more importantly there was always a super chilled vibe. ;)

I had a big comfortable bed, in a nice clean room with a bathroom. I loved the peace and quiet as the place is surrounded by trees so you literally sleep in the middle of the forest. The host Michael is sweet beyond words. The moment I opened my door a mug of fresh hot coffee with some yummy pastries were waiting for me served on the sunny porch. I will be returning that’s for sure. Thank you Michael🙏

Very nice place in a quiet location with a garden. The owner is a wonderful guy, I felt very much at home. Would definitely come again

Only issue is that the hotel is located on a hill top as name suggest. Bit hard to get there

We had a very good stay at Michael’s resort. The yard is really nice and peaceful. You can hear and see all kind of birds, make a nice hike with Michael (the host), and see monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Also, Michael prepares very tasty traditional Sri Lankan meals for fair prices. I would really recommend this place if you like nature, animals, hiking. Facilities were good in relation to the (low) price.

Beautifully run, relaxing guest house in the hills a couple km out of Monaragala. Surrounded by pleasant forest. Monkey and Giant squirrel visits. Peaceful forest sounds. Good place to start the hike to Maragala (Siripathula) Mountain. Wonderful manager Michael, very accommodating and relaxing. Great cook! Cat and dog walking around keeping you company from time to time

Food is delicious, but a bit pricey compared to the price of the room.
