Secret Spot Siargao

A perfect spot—close to all the action but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. Also, the attic room provided a great view of the beach during daytime and stars during the nighttime.

The Attic room doesn't have hot water but over-all everything is great.

Comfortable and clean

It was a prime location where you get to relax, even though it was a bit far from the tourist areas. It was still a good location to enjoy the island without experiencing all the comings and goings of tourists, especially at night. The staff were very accommodating, especially their assistant Luna the Husky.

With its location being a bit far from the tourists areas, that also means that it was a bit far from the restaurants as well.

A bit further from all the noise, if you ride a motorbike it’s perfect otherwise just need to walk like 20 mins or grab a tuk tuk.

Not specific to this location, most of the stays (besides more $ hotels) have soooooo many bugs. Slept with ants, grasshoppers, Lizard poop.

We were on the island for a week and spent our whole week at the Secret Spot. We stayed in 3 different rooms and felt very comfortable in all of them. If you look closely at the ad on Booking, all the rooms are as shown on the pictures. The location is great. General Luna is easily accessible by scooter in just 10 minutes and you have a retreat from the city here. However, we were most impressed by the staff and the residents of the Secret Spot. Whether it was the friendly staff, the adorable animals, Muning the cat and Luna the husky puppy, or Breech the manager, they made the place a home away from home for us. We were always greeted with a smile, had great conversations, received lots of helpful tips and got some animal cuddles. All in all, the atmosphere at this place is incredibly homely. Breech in particular was always available for us and helped us with our problems (such as a canceled flight or a broken key). When we come back to Siargao, we know where we will sleep.

The power cuts. However, these can be found everywhere throughout Siargao and are not the fault of Secret Spot.

I stayed here for a month and found it to be a nice getaway from the busy and noisy town of General Luna. The place is clean and offers a peaceful environment, which is great. There is a communal kitchen, which is very practical.

I think the place is a bit overpriced given the amount of power and water cuts. The frequent power outages made it challenging to work remotely, especially since I needed reliable Wi-Fi. Additionally, the water cuts were inconvenient, particularly after returning from a surf session and needing to shower.

Spacious. Clean. Private. Accommodating and friendly staff. Love the sound of crickets at night.

The shower head needs some upgrade☺️😉
