Amoreira House

Luis is one of the warmest and friendliest hosts we have ever had. You can tell that the well-being of his guests is very important to him and we really enjoyed his heart-warming manner. We felt right at home. We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone and would immediately stay with Luis again on our next visit. Thank you so much for the wonderful time! :)

The apartment is good, solid, modern, with a wonderful view from the balcony to the sea and the mountains. The owner Luis, is a very good man: when I got sick,he took me to the town's hospital, he constantly fed me avocados and bananas, and when I was leaving, he took me to another town and showed me around the most beautiful places off island.Thank you and i will be back again!

Definitely would stay here again, it is even better than it shows in the pictures ( view from terrace was exceptional) , and couldn't have been cleaner. It had everything we needed and more. Luis was a great host and went out of his way to make our time there perfect and made us feel very welcome.

Everything: location, interior, balcony view. Exeptionally good and friendly host. Fresh fruits everyday, assistance with any questions, that arise.

The apartment was very nice and well equipped. Everything was really clean. The host is the most kind and hospitable person ever. We really enjoyed the place and, if ever again on Madeira, we will definitely stay in Amoreira House.

The apartment has a splendid location; it’s peaceful and quiet and the sunny balcony overlooks the green valley and ocean. Everything is new and clean and you can find more than you need in the very many cupboards and drawers. There is a nice bar in the neighbourhood, with very long hours, where you can have great drinks and snacks, and where Luis, the host invited us for a welcome drink. Luis’ exceptional care and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Thank you once again, Luis:)

Amazing place. Quiet with awesome view. Well-equipped kitchen. Everything was super clean. Luis (the host) was very accommodating with everything, he was very warm and caring. 10/10 recommend this place also for the superb price.

The studio/apartment was spacious comfortable well equipped and felt brand new. The views were lovely and the area peaceful and quiet. We had visited Madeira last year, hired a car and visited most sights and walks that are difficult to reach and stay by bus.This year we spent the first half of our trip in Funchal and this was our beachy part of the holiday travelling only by bus. Initially we were going to stay very close to the beach but we felt this accommodation was more suited to us despite being up in the hills. We are so glad we did. We would walk down to the beach in the morning which even for our sixty year old legs was an enjoyable if steep walk (45 minutes) and get a taxi back in the evening which only cost 6-7 euros. We would shop in our favourite supermarket (Pingo Dolche) in Calheta and bring our groceries back in the taxi. We self catered most evenings but the Poncha bar around the corner did great food for odd evenings. On the way there we used the number 80 bus which dropped us at the beach and we got a taxi from there We then discovered that bus 142 stopped opposite the Poncha bar and we returned by a beautiful route to Funchal. This bus could also take you to various points on the west of the Island. Everything you read in other reviews about how wonderful and kind Louis and his family are if anything are understated. Highly Recommended
