Kohjum Relax Beach

Fantastic location peaceful great spot on ocean monkeys all around good food.

The ride in and the climb up and down to the resort but worth it, the lads who work there are superb

Beach front bungalows. Very quiet and beautiful beach.

No bottles of water in the room. Could have been more modernised. Along a dusty lane.

Nice views from the Bungalow. Pretty and calm beach despite being rocky when tide is low. Spacious. Warm water in the shower (as in pictures, but does only seem to be for the family bungalows, not the normal ones!). Staff from Restaurant, Cleaning where friendly and helpful. Good food and shakes for a reasonable price at the Restaurant.

Two relevant things made the stay unpleasant. 1. Pictures do not reflect the real Bungalow. We had the family seaview Bungalow. The pictures on booking were not showing the real Bungalow. It kinda seemed undone having just the outer wooden walls. The Sofa(bed) and wardrobe were missing, too. Also no Water, cups, coffee, kettle in room despite being shown in the pictures. After asking we got the kettle and cups at least. Rooms get cleaned only after every third night. While that is generally fine, the trash should be emptied more often especially when on Holiday with kids. For everything we had to ask regularly (e.g. ToiletPaper or emptying trash), which became annoying and cumbersome at a point. For what was finally offered, price is too high. 2. While (as said) Staff was super friendly and welcoming the lady who runs the place gave the opposite feeling. For example we had only ordered breakfast partially and asked to get it on the first days of our stay instead of the last which was declined. The free coffee which was supposed to be in the room hat to be picked up at the restaurant, but only one cup pP per day. Any other would have to be paid. Same for a Small water bottle which was 20bht and seemed too much as 1km up the dirt road the café there sold 20bottles for total 60bht. Everything -besides the restaurant- was pretty expensive. Taxi from the airport to pier was offered for 4times the price we paid, transfer to another island also cost over 1000bht more, scooter was 100bht more. I do get the fact that renting or ordering something directly at the Resort might come at a higher price for the service, especially if one is 15min away from a paved road, but asking four times the amout for just calling someone is not right. Luckily we found nice people who where not into maxing profit like the lady at the café i mentioned who even gave me a free lift (not only once), or at the OnLee Resort. I recommend staying elsewhere or just be aware of the above.

The staff at Relax Beach were lovely and super helpful. They can organise a scooter for you (we arrived directly to the bungalows by boat so this was handy!) It's on a super bumpy dirt road .. be prepared for some wild scootering. The bungalows were clean, the beds are very firm, there are mozzie nets, a small fridge and a fan. You can access some other bungalows/restaurants along the same beach (I had a great massage at the end of the beach at Oonlee bungalows). I recommend a scooter to explore all the island's beaches, cafes, bars and quiet spots. Coconut Beach was our fave swimming spot. Relax beach is a bit rocky but a beautiful sunset spot!!!! Koh Jum is a beautiful, laid back island with no big resorts or party backpackers. Perfect for a quiet beach holiday. Great value for money. Simple and relaxed accom. Friendly people!! Thank you ❤️

To be honest, not much! The beach was ok and kind of lonely so that was nice. The bungalow was spacious for a lot of luggage.

So, first of all - the road to the “hotel” and the way dawn to the bungalows is a very bad dirt road with mud everywhere (not mentioned anywhere) so we had to take a car to get us there for our luggage. Without a scooter you are screwed. The service that all the other comments are saying is not that good at all! The staff is always bored and sitting around the main area while doing nothing. We had a complicated start with a dirty room with a lot of ants in the bathroom and broken open window. So we changed the room to another one. There the sinks was broken and leaking… We tried to order one dish but nobody spoke English so we had to wait for the boss for just some spring rolls. We decided to have our meals somewhere else. To sum it up, they don’t clean your room on a daily basis (even if it is saying online), prices are way to high for that kind of a bungalow and this location, problems in the room with the windows, ants, sink, bathroom in general, mosquitoe net which was kind of broken - during our last night we had a medium size mouse in our room which was terrible and there is nobody anymore, even tough they offer “24 hours reception”, in the morning around 7 the workers, the boss with her child is coming and playing some plastic piano sounds and making noise in general, also in the resort next door we had neighbors which woke us up two times (we had a family with 3 medium aged children), WiFi and mobile connection nearly not available - so overall not a great stay.

The beach is good until low tide. Spacey housing. Good location.

Lack of hot or even clean water. Constant construction noise, even overnight sometimes. Rats running around the bungalow all night, even after we have them the poison.

When we arrived to Koh Jum Relax Beach, there was only one other person staying there and they were actually in the room that we had booked, so the staff upgraded us to one of the larger bungalows sitting right on the beach.

We came in Low Season and we would highly recommend not to come during this time. We ended up being the only ones staying at the Villa, which didn’t bother us, however there were a number of things that made this stay unenjoyable. The staff did not come to clean our room once, on a 5 night stay. The kitchen was not open so we had to go to another resort along the beach everyday to eat and we had to pay for water as it was not provided at our resort. The room itself was nice, however the amount of ants and mosquitoes that were inside the bungalow was unbearable. Although we had a net around our bed, mosquitoes and ants would bite us throughout the night, making it very hard to sleep. Also during this time, it was extremely hot and the fan was just not strong enough to keep us cool and we were hot and bothered our entire stay. As for the island itself, Koh Jum does not have much on it, which is fine and we knew that booking ithis stay, however, during low season, nothing is open and so, there is even less opportunities to see or do things. We asked for a motorbike from our resort, to which they provided one, however as we went to use it, we realised it was empty and wouldn’t start. We texted them (as they were never at the resort) and they didn’t get back to us, so we walked to the next resort and hired one through them instead. If you are looking for a relaxing, remote stay stay, Koh Jum is definitely the place, however I would unfortunately recommend staying at other larger resorts nearby to this one instead, as their facilities were much better.
