Heahtitude - Children Not Allowed

Really nice and clean hostel nearby the river. We appreciated Staying here with the farmers as neighbours instead of sleeping in those huge and ugly hotels for tourists. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. No loud noises, just the sound of the river. We recommend coming here with your own rented car to Explore the highlands, here you get your private parking.

The shower was new but not so warm, could have been warmer.

The property was very clean and the rooms were quite nice. In the kitchen was a lot of useful equipment.

First of all the location. You have to pay for at least 2 taxi rides (30min) to reach the hostel. For the most activities you have to take a taxi/ car or scooter to get back down to Tanah Rata (so you have to pay again). We have been very disappointed that the view was a dirty river, full of garbage and that there was not a single tea plant. Its very rude to make publicity with a stunning viwe if in fact, that is not the case. For me its a joke to call a box with biscuits and some powder coffe breakfast. At oll I think the price for this location with all extra costs is to high.

Dennis and his team are so organised! They supplied an excellent set of downloadable information, including great eateries with vegetarian options (unlike many other areas, Cameron Highlands has been really easy to find veg food!). The house itself is small, quiet and calm. Loved the thoughtful touches in the decor. There is a kitchen to do light cooking which was very welcome, and it was very easy to get fresh veg and meat etc from local markets. It’s within very easy walking distance from useful shops, eateries and local areas of interest.

Not that I disliked it, but something to factor in is that taxis to and from this village to the town were at least 40MR each way. I had unfortunate luck and couldn’t get the bus to stop at the village for either leg of my journey, nor could the 1/2 day tour collect from the village. I’d still stay here rather than the town though, and the hosts were exceptionally helpful with all my travel questions. Staying here was relaxing, I loved walking around and all the locals were really generous and welcoming.

We totally recommend this hotel! The place exudes splendor and cleanliness, and the staff's exceptional kindness elevates the experience even further. It's truly the perfect spot for creating memories amidst impeccable surroundings and impeccable service.

We spent three nights at Heatithude and very much enjoyed it. It is in a small, authentic town half an hour drive from Tanah Rata. Host Dennis is very helpful (he took us in his own car to the scooter rental company on our first day), room is clean and has a nicely decorated attached bathroom and the terrace on the small river at the back of the house is very nice to sit and drink a cup of coffee from the shared kitchen. We recommend this place!
