Thangkop House

The location was perfect. It's a beautiful house and a very beautiful family. Dolma aunty helped us a lot with everything. We extended our stay from 2 days to 5 days. Dolma aunty is a very knowledgeable woman and a very humble host The same goes for his son Wong, who helped us so much. We will miss Dolma aunty's kawah and breakfast.

A beautiful guest house run my a lovely, hospitable family. Clean and quiet and only a few minutes walk to some good restaurants and all the action of the main bazaar. Highly recommended!

The staff is very attentive and they help you out with everything. The house is in a quiet área close to the market.

I liked everything

The list of positives of my 3 night stay at Thangkop House is a long one: Good wifi, hot showers (both of which are scarce in Ladakh), spacious, clean rooms with lovely views, seamless check-in process, hot tea and biscuits on arrival etc etc. But what made my stay at Thangkop House so memorable was the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, Dolma and her son Wong. I had a million and one questions upon arrival as I needed help with planning my motorbike trip in Ladakh - not only did they patiently answer each question, but also organised my permits and motorbike for me, helped me plan the route, gave advice on the necessary provisions and stored my excess luggage during my 5 day trip. It is no exaggeration to say that were it not for them, my trip through Ladakh would not have been as memorable. Exceptional.

The property is located a brisk 10 minute walk from town. It was not an issue for me at all, but something to note for those that prefer to be close to the action.

We had an amazing stay at Thangkop House. We were warmly greeted by Dolma who is a wonderful host. She made us feel right at home and made sure we adjusted to the altitude. We loved Thangkop so much that we spent a few nights initially but then came back multiple times between trips to other places. The rooms are lovely and sunny. We had yummy breakfasts with homemade local bread. Wang (Dolmas son) helped us organise a scooter trip arranging for the bike to be dropped to the house for a very reasonable price and also helped us organise a trip to the Sham Valley Trek. I couldn’t recommend highly enough and if you are visiting Leh you should stay here :)

Very nice owners, clean and tidy.

Location is perfect, in a quiet area but very close to the Market and Palace. They make you really feel you are at home and the terrace views are MINDBLOWING
