50 CHURCH STREET - GALLE FORT

The location was amazing. We were only in Galle for one night so wanted to make the most out of our time there. The location was right in the middle of the fort with restaurants, shops, museums and the beach right on your doorstep. It meant we could maximize our time and see as much as possible. The design of the accommodation felt really contemporary and artistic. It was spacious and clean. Very good value for a short stay in Galle ☺️

The property takes you back in history. It’s an original property with a beautiful, spacious main level with lots of places to hang out and relax. The rooms are large with great big beds and lots of space, and great air conditioning.

The old home shows signs of disrepair and needs some work to restore it to grander days. But for the great cost it’s easy to overlook these small things. The other thing to be aware of it’s that the wifi is pretty awful and at many popular times like mid morning and evening it’s not usable at all. But after a month in Sri Lanka this seems to be the norm as their infrastructure just can’t support the demand. If Internet is important to you, then make sure you have a good cell 5G plan because you’ll need it!

This hotel is ideally located in the center of Galle, just 2 minutes from the Fort bastions. The spacious common area is really huge. It is beautifully designed, perfect for relaxing or working. Rooms are comfortable, with cozy beds and a thoughtful layout. Special thanks to the host, Nabeel, for his warm hospitality and helpfulness. A fantastic stay in a prime location—highly recommend!

Beautiful and original accommodation in the absolute heart of the Galle Fort area. We loved the aesthetic of the property. It felt very special to stay here. The bed is incredibly comfortable with good linen and pillows. Always a plus! The day bed under the window is a lovely spot to sit. Great shower. We really enjoyed seeing the black faced monkeys jumping around the trees!!! Nabile was very helpful and lovely to deal with. We would definitely recommend this property.

Full point on location and interior design. The place is very private as it has only 2 rooms.

Wifi in the room is a bit slow. To check-in, I would suggest message or call the property in advance. In case of electricity downs, a room flash light cannot be used as it runs out of battery.
