Location.

No on site personnel from abt 1400 to 0900 daily..no wifi for abt 12 hours..no proper kitchen facilities ie crockery and cutlery for a common kitchen.no tea or coffee in rooms.lack of lighting.

Excellent care

Unique stay in authentic, beautifully decorated Sri Lankan home of the owner of the Barefoot boutique shops. Only two rooms so it is like staying in your own private villa in the best location, right in the heart of Galle Fort. Seconds from shops and restaurants, yet very quiet and peaceful. Just a few minutes walk to beach and incredible sunsets. Room was nice, with comfortable beds and good A/C. We stayed one night, which we felt was enough for Galle Fort.

It would have been nice to have the option of in-house breakfast, but there was use of a kitchen with tea and coffee.

Great stay with large common areas and just two rooms for guests. Have a Dutch touch to it. Good people.

This quaint house located in the strategic shopping streets of Galle Fort was an excellent place to stay. The 2 bed room house met most of what we needed a spacious , beautifully decorated typical Sri Lankan courtyard house and clean place for us to relax with a glass of wine after a long day of walking and roaming the streets. There were 4 of us therefore the house was just nice for us . The caretaker Nabi was available on whats app as well as manager Azwan and as soon as we arrived there was help with the bags and a tour to familiarise ourselves with the house. We had a few electricity cuts in the afternoon ( the whole street) but it was restored in 10 -15 minutes. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Many shops , restaurants and cafes nearby. Therefore food is not a problem. A supermarket down the road is sufficient for general milk, coffee and bread stock up of staying long term.The house is located just a stones throw away from the Galle Fort where you can walk up to in the evenings after the sun and heat have come down. Travelling around by walking or the numerous tuk tuks that you can stop and ride if you are going somewhere further away. We had a van transport for your family therefore we only used it in the evenings when we went down to the beachside areas of Marissa and Unuwatuna in the evenings for dinner and sight seeing. Eventhough located on a small but busy street the house was peaceful and a nice escape from the normal hotel environment. Breakfast is not provided. Barefoot shop is also located next door to the house for some shopping.

We didn't cook much however would have liked to have a clear stove top / oven/ fridge . The kitchen is stocked with coffee / tea facilities and cutlery and wine glasses for 4 guest, however a bit of the spring clean would make the kitchen a bit more usable. The street is narrow therefore if you have a car parking is tight. Our van driver gave us a 5 minute heads up for pick up at the house entrance.

Central location. Beautiful calm setting. The rooms are offset from the main street which makes them quiet at night. Tea/coffee and access to the kitchen was nice to store things in the fridge.

The Aircon unit is slightly noisy at night when it turns off. But that's a minor point as I'm a light sleeper.
