Arches Fort

The staff at Arches Fort couldn’t have done more to accommodate us and make our stay as good as possible. We brought some leftover food from a cooking class the previous day and they stored it in the fridge for us and re-heated it for us for our dinner. We also had an early train on our day of departure and they woke up early to make a little breakfast pack for us. They were very helpful and friendly.

Very attentive and helpful staff, beautiful rooms with great air-conditioning. Good location right in the fort area. Great breakfast and good coffee and cake.

No pool

Great location, right in the heart of the Galle Fort.

We were in Room 03, where the kitchen is beneath us. There is a fair bit of noise during the late evenings and early mornings from the kitchen and the staff. The shower stall has no place for toiletries. The towels provided were great on day one, but threadbare on day two :(. The rooms look spacious in the images, but they are quite small compared to the images on the site. We had informed the hotel in advance that we were vegans. The very limited breakfast options for vegetarians or vegans remain unchanged throughout our stay. Don't believe that for USD $100 a night, this is a good value :(. We have stayed at several other places in the Galle Fort that offered better value for money.
