Don't look for another place in Cuzco, you'll just loose time. Fortalezza is worth the climb (ask the taxi for San cristobal and walk down 30m, easy peasy). Jean-Claude and Ita are fantastic hosts and their home is just perfect. Comfort, spotless rooms, flexibility, all day hot drinks, hot water and heating, all you can dream. Options not far away for food, and short wlak down to get to the city center. You will have to clib back of coruse, but once again, largely worth the effort. Be friendly and open for discussion, exchange and not just consumers clients, and your stay will be even more great. Thanks for all, rare pleasure to find such place !

Maison Fortaleza truly is one of the best places to stay in Cusco: The rooms with their wooden floor are bright and clean, the location is close-by to all the places you’d want to go in cusco (from the top of the guesthouse thats on top of a little hill you have a beautiful view) and the hospitality gave us a feeling of coming home abroad from home. The rooms have a heater and cozy bed, the shower is always hot (which was not for granted in some other places) and there is a little woodfire oven in the community room which is very cozy. As others wrote in their reviews here - we had the feeling of visiting friends instead of staying at a hotel from the beginning and actually became friends with the hosts Itala and Jean-Claude during our stay who always supported us when we needed help and advice on our hikes, daytrips etc.. :) We extended our stay twice and really enjoyed the hospitality and the beautiful room. thanks again!
