The Historic Mansion

Enjoyed the owner and the story/ history of the place. Flexible with check in time.

Blankets and linens had multiple stains and hair all over. Tried to just turn the pillow cases inside out then found the pillows inside to be yellow and stained everywhere. Not very clean. Bathroom light bulb went out making it hard to potty and shower in the dark. (Minor inconvenience). The small square this mansion is in was cute however, the moment you step out of the small are its not ideal at all. Non of the rooms were locked. My children and I went to go to our room and mistaken the wrong door . When it opened it wreaked of cat pee and cat toys were on the stained carpet. Idk what or who lives in there but didn’t feel safe considering I walked right into someone’s home . Ended up leaving after getting dinner wasting $200.. just to drive 4 hours home with kids. Didn’t feel it’s a place for me and my family. Disappointed but we tried it..

The location was good. As the name suggests, it does have a historic look to it. Host was wonderful.

Check in time was 6 PM, and we only got to know about it after we made the refundable booking. I have never seen check in as late as 6 PM elsewhere (4 PM latest, average being 3 PM). And check out time was 10 AM. So paying $180 per room for 16 hours seems quite overpriced.
