NZLovely host Great location for little Italy dining area and as short walk to centre and Yale university
Probably floors etc cd hv been little cleaner but bathroom clean and nice bed linen
USWe like staying in older historical places and the mansion fit the bill. It’s location was great with free street parking, easy access to the Yale campus and a coffee shop across the street. The bed was the best part of the room. The owner, Nico was cordial and very proud of the art and history associated with the facility…but was overwhelmed with property management.
The property was dated, lacked maintenance and general upkeep and even basic cleaning services…The shower and bathroom area bordered on unsanitary and surfaces were quite overdue for a dusting…a facelift is definitely in order
USThe location was perfect for dinner at Pepe’s.
It needed a thorough cleaning and the services of a hood decorator. The pictures online do not match reality.
AUGood location, friendly host, quirky old house.
Perhaps the house is too old. It needs a thorough cleanup and renovation.
USWe loved the location, ease of checking in and out. The host was gracious and the historic house is a gem. Having parking was awesome. The room is quiet, clean and comfortable.
There are challenges to a very old house. The wifi was unreliable but we weren't there to work and really didn't spend much time in the room. We did have issues with the bathroom plumbing that we let our host know about.
USWe got a great welcome from Nico with a history of the house and a recommendation for a nearby pizza place called Frank Pepe’s. It may be the best pizza I’ve had in the US. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE BED WAS COMFORTABLE. We arrived by train from NYC and it was a short 1.5 block walk from the State Street station. I had to double check the address as there were no signs out front. It was an easy 15 minute walk the next morning (without bags) to pick up the rental car at Union station. The coffee shop across the street had really good (but also very expensive, as Nico warned us) coffee. There are other options in the area, but we were in a hurry and it was a nice morning to sit at the table on the street.
All good.
DENico is a charming and helpful host. The house is as promised- old but full of history and artwork. Excellent coffee shop next door and lots of restaurants within a few blocks in Wooster Square. Easy 10 minute walk to Yale's main campus. Highly recommend!
USIf you like historical places it’s ok and also the location is very good. The owner was very kind.
It wasn’t very clean, even knowing that it’s a historic house, the bathroom was too old and in a very bad shape.

USLoved the tour of the house. Loved the location. We were able to walk to the Yale campus for a great tour and visiting their art museum. Good restaurants close by.
Would have loved quality coffee in the room.
