Very old and outdated Needs urgent attention and repairs Lights switches not working Not clean

Location great room was warm water was hot. chef in the kitchen really tried hard

They offfer a restaurant but no stock. No management. All left to the cleaner/waiter who was not interested Bed was the hardest bed ever may as well have slept on the floor.

The beautiful scenery and the peace and quiet. The Food was delicious.

An excellent location for an overnight stop but the accommodation and facilities did not live up to what is reflected and written up in the listing. The staff were very friendly and helpful but everything was quite run down. Picked it based on the listing with a playground, pool and pizzas - perfect for my toddler. They no longer do pizzas and the play ground has not been maintained. It's a lovely setting but needs some TLC.

Need to update the listing to reflect what is actually available.

It was not well cleaned. No hot beverage utilities were offered and not well ventilated. The pool was not cleaned.

Nice location and spacious rooms.

Restaurant closed on Sundays, so had to go in to town. Didn’t have any coffee or tea in rooms as they were out of stock. The carpets and couches need a proper clean. Toilet seat was broken in the one room and the shower handle was also broken and put on the window sill.

The location and it was very quiet.

We arrived and our room wasn't ready. We were 'upgraded' but which meant our daughter had to share the bed with us. Then the WiFi wasn't working properly. The restaurant is very limited in terms of a menu and the pizza place is non existent. When I approached reception, receptionist was on her phone/video call. The place has tremendous potential.

The Old Orchard in Kokstad is falsely advertised through Booking.com. Booking.com should take ownership of what they advertise on their site. The Old Orchard was rated 4 stars on their website, it's not worth 1 star. The Old Orchard is on its last leg...the showers and toilets are very dirty, toilet seat in our room was completely broke. Our confirmation email from booking.com on the morning of arrival stated that we can order woodfired pizzas from the restaurant on arrival, unfortunately that was not the case, their pizza oven has not been used in months. We could only choose between 2 of the 5 starters and 2 of 10 mains on the menu, the rest was not available, and we paid R200 PER meal... This was a very disappointing experience after a 9 hour trip. The owner of The Old Orchard has no idea how to run a business and Booking.com is responsible for falsely advertising accommodation that's not up to standard.

The location is nice and it must have been a beautiful place in its Hay day.
