Close to railway station and Abbey.

The roof leaked dripping in the room while it rained from 23:30 to circa 1:30.

Location as I was singing at Selby Abbey

Struggle to get the key in the front door lock . Shower was cold , no hot water at all . Had to use the kettle and fill it up with warm water from the sink tap Twice . Sent message to tell them about it . Had a visit by the maintenance man who checked it and he said the shower was recently put in and due to low water pressure in the area possibly causing the problem and to try it later which I did but it still didn’t work . I messaged to ask if one of the other rooms were vacant. They replied that once one of the guest had left on the Saturday they would leave room 7 open for me to use the shower and move into the room if I wanted . I explained I was out all day Saturday and I didn’t return until after 11 pm that evening . I went to my room ( 5) and went to sleep . I didn’t use the shower on the Sunday morning as I was up early and left to go back home . The bed was uncomfortable and it smelled musty I enjoyed Selby and the Abbey but not my accommodation.

Electric shower did not work, thus unable to have a shower.

Convenient.

No hot water in the shower.

Ideal from train station and centre of town. Offered a complimentary beverage upon collecting key which was a nice gesture. The bar where I collected the keys from was really pleasant and the staff were friendly from the off. Maybe a little lick of paint here and there in the rooms but to be honest for the price, the location and all of it could not be faulted. Recommended gaff if visiting Selby and don't want to spend a fortune on a place to rest your head.

Nothing! They accepted our booking, took our money and then refused us at the door and tried to blame booking.com! We were left on the street…

The lack of professionalism and blame on booking.com and we’ve had it confirmed by booking.com that it was the hotel that had actually chosen to overbook and refuse us, but still take your money.. I would suggest no one book this place ever !!!
