Jungle Base Camp

We had a really nice stay at the jungle base camp. Hukum and his family were very welcoming and hospitable. We got the chance to do a walking and jeep tour and on our free days we got to spend time swimming and walking around town with Hukums son.

We stayed with Hukum and his family for three nights. It was everything we ever hoped for and more. Him and his family do everything to make you feel welcome and at home. The home-cooked food is great and we even got to eat their home grown potatoes.The bonfires in the evening were great to stay warm and have a chat with each other. The room, bed and bathroom were also very good. The clay paintings on the outside of the huts are a very nice detail. We did two safaris: one walking safari and one jeep safari. Both were amazing. They were guided by Hukum and Ksab and they are both so professional. On the safaris we've seen the beautiful landscape of Bardiya, the most beautiful birds, deer, otters, crocodile and the cherry on top was a very impressive tiger. Thank you again for an unforgettable experience. 🥰

Hukum, the owner and guide, worked so hard to make sure I had a good time. His wife provides the meals, which were excellent and organic (many of the items are from his own garden). He helped me plan an itinerary for my time there. His prices were reasonable for the excursions. I saw a tiger and elephant in the wild as well as many other species of birds and animals. Although it's significantly more expensive than the other day trips, I would recommend the rafting. It was peaceful and a unique way to see Bardiya.

Tea is served with breakfast which was fine. But as a coffee drinker and the fact that's there's nothing else close by, I would have loved coffee even Nescafe.

I stayed with my friend 4 days and we had a wonderful time here. Hukum went to jungle Safari with us, he is an experienced wildlife guide and we spottet lots of animals. His wife cooked tasty food every day fresh from their organic garden for us. She made extra veggi food for my diet and lunch package for all for jungle trekking. Bungalow was cosy, bathroom with hot shower and free WiFi. All in all we felt very welcome. Hukum helped us arranging the transport and overnight bus back to Kathmandu. Communication was easy, he cares a lot to make his guests feel good. In the evening he made campfire for us. The area is safe and lots of things to see around here. We will definitely come back.

Very lovely host family. This small accomodation was wonderful. The beds are clean and the bathroom is basic, but has a good hot shower. The hosts make delicious meals with fresh ingredients. He is a very good guide for Jeep safari and walking safari, with a very fair price. We felt at home and kept staying longer.

The location was exceptional and it is a beautiful vegetation. you can observe the life of the people in the surrounding villages. The jeep safari was great and the guides put a lot of effort into it so that I could see animals. The hosts are very warm and nice and I was always good and deliciously served.

The loud music during the overnight stay in the jungle, which started very early and apparently just didn't stop. I can only hope for the next one that it was a local festivity and not a happening every night

Nice place to explore bardia Nationalpark! Hukum, the owner, is a guide and offers all kinds of experiences at an attractive price.

Hum and his family were very hospitable and helpful. They have a peaceful beautiful garden from which they take ingredients to cook incredible meals everyday. They make a fire in the mornings and nights in the common areas.

Beautiful property, comfortable bed and the most amazing friendly family. The nightly campfire with the family and other guests makes for a great atmosphere 😁
