Jungle Base Camp

A beautiful little spot, peaceful and charming. We would have stayed an extra night but on a motor bike tour so had limited time. The family are really lovely and we had lunch and dinner on site.

Nice and simple place right next to the national park. The owner can take you on a on day walking tour if you wish.

The owner and his wife are very nice and hospitable. It’s basic but adequate. Food are tasty and they are kind enough to make herbal tea for my friend’s coughing

We did some jungle activities with the owner. Though he has lots of experience in guiding people in the jungle there, we feel there could be more interactions like education on the animals, how tiger lives etc

I stayed with Hukum and his family for 5 nights and everything was perfect! His lodge is a typically Nepalese house where I was able to have my privacy in a large and confortable bedroom with bathroom and convivial moments in the outdoor lounge where we all had our meals. Hukum, his wife and son welcomed me with open arms! Krishna, Hukum's wife, is always smiling and positive! She prepares all the meals at home, using local ingredients (sometimes even from the garden!) and adapts completely to your diet. Everything was delicious, I ate every day and never lacked anything! Hukum was so welcoming, warm, helpful and secure throughout my stay. As well as being my host, he was my guide in the jungle of Bardia and I can say with certainty that he is the best in the region! He was the really first guide here (30 years ago) and he knows ALL the national park by heart, loves nature and animals deeply and is full of ideas and tips on how to best approach the tiger safely. We did several jungle safaris by walk, by motorbike, by jeep and he even proposed me a night in a tree house in the middle of the jungle to watch the animals safely at night. It was absolutely magical! Thanks again! This trip will remain engraved in my memory forever! Everything was perfect and more than what I expected. If you're thinking of coming to Bardia, being close to the park and enjoying a real experience in comfort and with local people, the Hukum lodge is for you!

Property is in vey good location. Front of jungle..owner and his family was very friendly. Stay was completely like home and we can cook the food also.

The Host offered to pick me up from the main road and when I arrived at the location I got my room (house) and food right away. The family who runs the place was always friendly and super helpful. I just had two nights before my visa expired, so the first evening when I arrived I planed a jungle hike and a stay over in a tree house in the jungle for the next day with the host. Everything was super easy to plan and the two days were great. Also the talks with the family were exciting and interesting.

I actually don't have anything to complain about

It's a really calm, beautiful place in the jungle. The owner is very friendly, good to talk to and knows the area well due to being a guide aswell. Highly recommend staying in this lovely place.

Where to starts... Hukum, his wife and their little boy are amazing! They are some of the most hospitable and genuine people that we have met during our trip. After 5 days with them, we were super sad to leave! They make you feel like you are part of the family. The food is delicious and they make sure to switch it up as well. Also, Hukum is super knowledgable and can explain a lot about the village and the jungle. He also helped us to book our bus ticket and tuktuk for our next destination which was appreciated.

Everything was perfect!! If you are looking for a fancy experience, this isn't it. This is an authentic nepali experience.
