Great host, nice breakfast, clean room, pleasant location outside city next to a peaceful lake

The friendliest, sweetest and most helpful host ever. She makes delicious breakfast, helps with itineraries and organizes transport. Her son is also so sweet and fun to talk to. Feels like a proper homestay. The rooms are excellent and feels like a home. Nice and quiet location away from the busy centre.

There is a bit of construction going on all over Cat Ba due to the recent typhoon, so expect some noise (but not all the time, and not early/late). That’s just something to keep in mind when going to Cat Ba in general now, nothing the host can do much about.

We had the best Host and Breakfast at Corner Catba. She also helped me with Simcard issue and we could use the Motorbike for free to get to the City. We can recommend 100% Closeby is a really nice beach, used of locals, more quiet than directly in Cat Ba

First impression at the road side drop off wasn’t great due to some unfinished development and untidiness but rest assured, when you’ve walked down a little road to arrive at Corner Catba it is a wonderful authentic welcoming and comfortable home stay, a peaceful lakeside oasis. I smile, remembering the dialogue between cockerel and turkey on the other side of the lake whilst we enjoyed the lovely home cooked breakfast under the pergola. The host was absolutely the best, extremely helpful and speaking good English. Lovely family. Fond memories of our stay here❤️

Such an exceptional place in Cat Ba: a small-scale cosy accomodation in a quiet location with an incredibly friendly and helpful host. She helped us book a boat tour and taxi, gave us tips on what to visit, and made an incredible vietnamese breakfast every morning (always something different and nice veggie options). The rooms are very clean with comfy beds and a cute terrace. I would advise to stay here instead of the city centre, you can rent a motorcycle to get around or walk.

Everything was great but the owners/family made it extra special. They were just so lovely - we arrived very early (overnight bus from Sapa) and they made us breakfast. Everyday breakfast was different and home cooked. They sorted out all our tours, scooters and onward travel at good rates. The location was so peaceful and a 20 min walk to the centre. Highly recommend

Staying at Corner CatBa felt like visiting a generous relative. Pi’s warmth and care shine through in everything—her incredible cooking, her thoughtful recommendations, and the cozy atmosphere she’s created. She keeps only three rooms to ensure every guest gets the best experience, and it truly shows. Our room was perfect—cozy, spotless, with a comfortable bed and duvet, and a beautiful view of the lake. From the moment we arrived, Pi took care of everything we could possibly need, making us feel completely at home. Her husband is just as kind, and together they have the warmest smiles that make you feel like family. If I ever find myself in CatBa again, there’s no question—I’ll stay with Pi and her family. I can only recommend this place! ❤️❤️❤️

The location was very peaceful, breakfast was nice, room was nice too. We rented a motorbike to do the tour of the island and visit the national park. Our host was very kind and gave us lots of information about what to do. It was one of our best stay in Vietnam!

A little slice of heaven in Cat Ba. Opposite a lake and out of the town so very quiet. The family that run this place are so very kind. They will help with everything. Fantastic quality scooters and they can organise trips and transport.. Accommodation is very clean and the breakfasts are lovingly created and local Vietnamese traditional food. Don't hesitate to book this place, it's amazing!!!

Amazing homestay, where there are only three rooms and you are really with the owners, who are lovely. Every day a new traditional Vietnamese breakfast. You can rent motos from there, as it is not in the center, but we liked it that way. The owner explained the area really well and gave us recommendations on where to go.
