My wife and I spent two nights here, but as soon as we arrived, we wished we had stayed longer. This is honestly one of our favourite places that we have ever stayed. The location is stunning and it has the most incredible view. Amila, Laurence, Ruwan, were all incredibly friendly and made the experience even more special. And the owners, Sam and Anthony, made you feel right at home :) We can't wait to come back and stay even longer next time!

This is a very special place. The setting and the views are spectacular. And the team that work here are so warm and really care that you have an amazing time. Thank you Rangala House!

Our dilemma, to keep this place secret or say just how good it was and risk not being able to find a vacancy again (?) But it really was excellent and the whole team there deserve recognition. We treated ourselves to a 3 day stay and ended up booking another night, which almost says it all😀. We loved the setting, welcoming hosts and staff, the pool, the lovely walks and not least the superb food. A lovely relaxed place with the perfect balance of attentiveness but giving guests space too. Oh and loads and loads of bird life visible from the comfort of the terrace. We sincerely hope to be back.

What a place. The highlight of our fortnight trip to Sri Lanka! The view from the room and restaurant patio is beyond exceptional - you can happily stare for hours it is that good. Far better than Ella, for example. The food here is so good - all freshly prepared and to your taste (western or sri lankan and spice levels editable). No doubt some of the best meals we had in sri lanka. Beautiful swimming pool - nice and clean. Amazing, very homely lounge, with an open fireplace that the staff lit for us while we enjoyed the sofas and the many, many books. We felt totally at ease here. Rangala House put us in touch with a freelance guide, Niro, who was amazing and took us on a 7 hour trek in the Knuckles range, which was again, a total highlight. If you are looking for something smaller and independent, there are 3 well written walk guides that you can take yourself from the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and have been left in keeping as a tea planter’s living quarters. This place is a must - any drive you have to do from wherever else is on your itinerary is totally, totally worth it. Total peace and tranquility with the best view of all time, lovely service and delicious, fresh food.

An amazing location set on the side of the hill overlooking the tea plantations on the edge of Rangala. If you want to get away from tourist areas and right out into the Sri Lankan countryside up in the hills, Rangala House is hard to beat. Despite this off the beaten track location, the kitchen provides amazing home cooked food of freshly cooked authentic Sri Lankan cooking. Thank you to Anthony and the whole team for giving us a truly memorable stay.

I don’t think words can explain how truly remarkable Rangala House is. It’s just extraordinary. I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some epic places in my time but this place is magical. The moment you enter, the hospitality is on another level. You are greeted so warmly and from then on, you are a treated unbelievably well throughout. Rangala House is a place of excellence - the property, views, staff, hospitality, service, food - I don’t think I’ve ever spent a whole day in any property just staring at the beauty of the surroundings from sunrise to sunset, but here I did. The manager and house staff are the kindest people and you feel totally looked after at every moment. The food is the best I’ve had in a long time anywhere in the world and the chefs rhubarb cake is firmly on my list of the most delicious deserts I’ve eaten. The organisation of every need is seamless - taxis, guides, lunches, dinners etc. It safe to say, I hope to be back again one day.

Everything about Rangale House is just amazing. The view from the balcony and room was so beautiful, the staff was welcoming and warm, the room was cozy and comfortable and the home made food is just delicious. We also went one a small hike around the tea plantages recommended by the manager. We would come back any day
