Very nice, clean and comfortable property. Appreciate the great welcoming and hospitality received from Luis. Was the best room I stayed in São Miguel and definitely highly recommend it.

The night was hot and we wish we had a fan to circulate the air, but everything else was great!

The location was absolutely perfect, so close to everything we wanted to explore. The house was lovely, and we really appreciated the attention to detail. But the gardens... they were simply breathtaking. You could feel the love and care that went into creating them. My mother adored walking through them, discovering the different corners and asking about the various flowers and plants. She described it as a little piece of paradise. Luís and his son were incredibly kind and welcoming, and Luís took the time to share with us the area's history and the beauty of Furnas and the Azores. In short, if you're planning a trip to Furnas, you simply must stay here.

We loved the property and the gardens. It takes a lot of work to maintain the gardens, keeping the wonderful plants and flowers perfectly trimmed. We also loved the quiet patio areas with the glass sliding doors to sit and read and to relax and have fresh air with lovely comfortable furniture. The kitchen was awesome, and with a full size fridge. The living room was very comfortable for relaxing on the big couch, and the homemade liquors were a unique and fascinating touch. We had great conversations with Luis and learned much from him about Portugal. He is a spendid host and adds his own personal touch. He also gave us very good dinner recommendations. We also loved occasionally hearing the cows, sheep, and chickens from a (not too) nearby farm.

There was nothing that we did not like. Just a couple of helpful notes: It took a minute for us Americans to get used to the fact that the bathroom is next to the bedroom, just down the hall and not directly attached to the bedroom. It is a private bathroom, not shared. We quickly adapted to that. I think a small map of Furnas with street names and points of interest marked on it would have helped us. We were confused about the streets and used the GPS to get us to town and back because of the one-way streets. We didn't walk since we did not know how far away the market was or how to find it. There is a knee replacement on the horizon, so we were reluctant to walk too far. Maybe a couple of ice cube trays would have been nice, for making a small amount of ice for drinks.

Luis, the owner was very welcoming, helpful with dining, sightseeing tips on our 3 nights stay from May13. Take time to walk around his beautiful, peaceful, paradise of a garden with fruit trees, flowers, pond, awesome treed place. The bedroom. private bathroom ( next to bedroom), equipped kitchen, living room, patio was very spacious, relaxing. Wished we stayed here longer with close proximity to center of Furnas, Lagoa da Furnas and iconic sights. Private free on site parking was a plus, Highly recommend this place. The comfort - we were almost alone, location, the communication and help of the host, everything. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom huge.

Very nice host, tells you a bit the history of the island, his family and the house. Everything is clean, all you need is there, also a wonderful garden. We would repeat. Thank you!
