Aldos Guest House

The service and people are great in this hostel - very kind and helpful. I arrived at 7 am and could directly check into my room which after a 8h bus ride was much appreciated. The host Aldo is very flexible and nice. I needed to cancel one night of my reservation and he was super understanding and flexible!

The walls are very thin so you can hear all the noise from outside and other rooms. If you want a quiet place, this hostel isn’t for you as it’s very social and the terrace can get loud in the evening.

everything was great !! this is the best place I’ve ever been to ! great location, great terrace, amazing vibe at night when all the guests play games and share together ! but most of all, great hosts !! Aldo helped me so much for all the activities (I recommend doing Mateo’s glacier !!!) and all the guides in the hostel made such a pleasant stay that I decided to extend my stay and volunteer in the hostel !

Aldo is very helpful to organize any hiking trips you are interested in and is very accommodating on check in and check out times. There was a great sense of community with the shared kitchen and patio space, there was always tea, coffee and breakfast foods to use in the morning. The location is excellent. I would highly recommend staying here!

great location, amazing prices for tours, the owner Aldo was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. for a guest house/hostel, you can’t really fault it and it’s in a great location in huaraz. laundry was decent and Aldo also supplies breakfast that is more than enough considering the decent price to stay in the first place (he honestly doesn’t need to supply the breakfast and that’s so great of him).

it’s quite noisy so if you want a good night sleep, bring ear plugs/noise cancelling headphones. however, you have to remember it’s a guest house/hostel so there are going to be noises from other guests, especially as some tours need to start early. the private bathroom had a musty smell to it and didn’t seem the cleanest but, the showers were hot and great after a days hiking.

Lovely shared spaces, very helpful, friendly and relaxed owner who makes you feel at home. Aldo is involved in the city's whereabouts and all it has to offer for hikers, mountaineers, etc.

There is a wonderful sense of community, lots of spots to gather and meet fellow travelers. Don't book your trecks/hikes/adventures until you chat with Aldo, he will help you find the right company. There is a full kitchen to use, and lots of space to hang out. I would recommend this spot to anyone to stay for a day or a month!!

I chose to stay at Aldo's because I was traveling alone and thought it would be a good place to meet other people. And it was! Aldo is an extremely helpful host and really helps to facilitate a sense of community in the hostel. I ended up meeting some wonderful people who I went on hikes with. Aldo was also great about helping me set up different excursions--including hiking, mountaineering, and also rock climbing. I had so many options and it was all so easy to coordinate. I would definitely recommend Aldo's to single travelers or groups who want to meet others or have a one-stop-shop for excursion coordination.

Great place to stay in Huaraz. Lots of travelers so you meet plenty of people, overall a very communal hostal. Aldo is very welcoming and will help with arranging any treks, so easy if you don’t know what to do first. View from top terrace is amazing!

The bathroom ran out of the toilet paper a few times, so had to keep asking.
