Lovely hostel, not right in the center but easy to walk everywhere! Our room was nice and we connected with lots of other guests staying here :)

Bathrooms could be a bit better

It was ok Terrific value for the money. Good location. Nice staff unfortunately the first room I stayed in was on the ground floor and there was a lot noise from the kitchen. My room had no window screens or glass and i had a really hard time with the ferrocious mosquitos! I have since moved to a room on the top floor A thousand times better now! I will give the current room a much higher rating!

I think the sheets were not clean. Pillowcases smelled like dirty hair and the whole bed was a bit dirty

Front desk was great. They weren't always present but were there when it counted. Got in after 10pm from a delayed ADO bus and they were up waiting for me. I left an item behind at checkout and they grabbed it and had it waiting for me. Room was simple but clean. A good experience here.

Restroom facilities were lacking.

The only positive aspect was that the hostel allowed me to store my luggage for a few hours after check-out, which was helpful.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hostel was truly disappointing. I arrived late in the evening and checked out as soon as possible the next morning. The common facilities are extremely poor. There is only one bathroom (one shower and one toilet) for women and one for men, serving the entire establishment, which spans two floors with several rooms. To make matters worse, neither toilet had a seat, and as of December 16th, this issue had clearly been ongoing for a long time, as mentioned in other reviews. When I asked the staff about it, I was told it was “under repair,” but it doesn’t seem like there’s any real intention to fix it. The toilets were also very dirty, and the shower was uncomfortable and only had cold water, which was unacceptable after a long day. The room was essentially a flimsy wooden structure with gaps in the walls. Light streamed in, and there was absolutely no privacy—every sound from the kitchen, nearby rooms, or outside could be heard clearly. Mosquitoes and other insects could easily come and go, and the temperature at night dropped significantly during this time of year. I was freezing all night with only a tiny sheet provided, and I couldn’t get a moment of sleep because of the cold. Adding to the misery, Saturday night brought loud music and karaoke, which continued until 5 am, even though Bacalar’s festivities seemed to have ended much earlier. This made an already uncomfortable night even worse.For almost 20€, you can find way better options in Bacalar.

The quiet around the place.

It was very dirty. The room, dirty. the toilet, dirty. No paper. The fan broken.

The private room was good value! The mosquito netting needed patching but we didn’t have issues with mosquitos so it was okay. Facilities were pretty good. Not super close to town but really close to a nice pier on the lagoon which you can hang out at.
