El Árbol de la Vida

We arrived to a very friendly welcome from Hugo, who is the new owner. He was very generous with his time, super friendly and helped us book the boat tour (a must!). We stayed in the basic cabin which was good for a few nights, but note that it's sort of indoor/outdoor living and quite hot this time of year. lots of lovely seating areas on the property and only 1 minute walk to the lake.

Could use a little 'love', for example no real at the bathroom, the doors to the bathrooms are quite short, so there is not much privacy. I know there are plans for great renovations - so I'm sure there will be great changes to come!

Good price and fantastic location. A very basic kitchen but it did the job. The owners were lovely.

The room was very basic and didn't have a proper wall separating us from the room next door. It's very hot in the room even with aircon.

The staff at the hostel were incredibly helpful and accommodating, telling us everything to k ow about the hostel as well as reccomendations for the local area and how best to enjoy the lake. Very nice roof terrace and seating areas throughout the hostel.

Not really a problem for us but some people might consider the rooms quite rustic (quite a big gap above the door covered only by a curtain, we forget to close the curtain one evening and a bat came in). Kitchen was slightly small for the number of rooms.

Ended up extending our stay to 4 nights as we enjoyed it here. It had a great location 2 minutes away from the free Dock to go swimming, 10 minute walk from a well stocked grocery store and laundry. Owner Ellie was absolutely lovely and would check on everyone everyday. She was so kind and made us feel so at home. We made the most of the kitchen and cooked all of our meals while we were there. Place only has a few rooms so had a great relaxed vibe and we met some lovely people while staying there.

Very welcoming and friendly host. the area is beautiful and comfortable to hang out. everything we needed was there.

We had a basic room that reminded us of an old stable. Quiet loud and hot, not the most comfortable.

Everything was perfect, and the host is ADORABLE, we felt like home! Very clean, and the location very convenient. I totally recommended this place :)

Everything, but mainly Ellie the host. She is a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul. Full of life and love. We were very sad to leave but the memories will stay with us forever. It is a very special place ❤️❤️
