The Cottage

Fantastic location, central to everything in Bristol. Lovely host and felt like home. everything is provided and very good value, a quiet location with secure parking. Private courtyard and ensuite, well fitted kitchen area, provided all the cutlery and crockery, basic condiments and generally a lovely comfortable layout and furnishings. Will definitely be back.

Noisy from storm but how often do you get a red alert for high winds

Drain smell overpowering. Thought it might be a one off but looking at reviews going back a year plus this has been a problem for many. So it begs the question why on earth is it still an issue. It was dreadful and really spoilt our stay. I can only surmise that the owners aren’t prepared to fix the problem. Also the place was cold - the heaters were preprogrammed for a few hours a day and it was a cold weekend - you can press a boost button but you have to remember to do this every hour or so. I rang the host to ask about sorting it and she just said “press the boost”. Also have a large ish car and the owner parked their car in the middle of the drive so that it took three attempts to get the car in the space. It was just, fundamentally, inhospitable

The Cottage was just perfect for us, with Waitrose a 5 minute walk away. The seating and bed were very comfortable. Very useful parking space as there are so few parking places with accomodation in Clifton.

I was bitten all over by mosquitoes as there are 2 water troughs just by the front door,where they were obviously breeding! We suggested to the owner that they are drained of water but she said she would put an anti mosquito tablet in there instead. In the shower room there was a very odd smell, which would go away if you left the fan on 24/7. We accidentally pulled out the plug for the router for wifi,so we suggest that a notice is pinned above the plug to warn people. The TV was dodgy!

Excellent location. Delightful host. Property is beautifully maintained and comfortable. Perfect stay on every level.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and tastefully decorated and furnished. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cleaning products. The location is perfect - easy to reach Bristol but close to Clifton and 5 minutes walk to the bus-stop. There was very little noise so great to get a good night's sleep. I would stay here again!
