Old Gate Family Guest House

The family owning this hotel were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and came with a balcony. The location is perfect too. As I was from India I was greeted with so much warmth and the owner sang an old Bollywood song in excitment which made me so happy. He was very helpful with any questions I had and when I left the hotel I had to leave late at night (as I had an early morning train). He ensured that he arranged for some snacks and tea so I don't travel hungry, he also came till the cab to see me off. My heart was filled with great joy with the hospitality I experienced here.

The gentleman who checked me into the hotel was absolutely lovely. He runs the hotel with his family. He helped me to the room with my suitcase and politely showed me how the balcony could be opened and how to run the shower. The next morning, I was not feeling well and they noticed I wasn't eating much for breakfast. They were SO SWEET to offer me medication, keep giving me hot tea and bottled water at no extra charge. When it was time for me to check out and leave, they even helped carry my bags to the Yandex taxi, sent me off with big smiles. I should also say that the location is amazing, short walk to all the attractions!

The water shower pressure was weak.

Friendly and kind family run guest house. They packed me food for the 4 AM train to Khiva and even woke up to help w bags. Room was very clean and comfortable.

The staff is so friendly; I couldn't wish for a better service. Roman was very helpful with any requests. I had a very early morning train, so he offered me breakfast at 4:30 am. He even packed some food for my trip. Also, you can't wish for a better location; it's a 5-minute walk from the old town. You can request a golf cart to tour the old town, which can be very helpful during the hot months.

Room was adequate. Breakfast was good. The lady owner was very nice.

Arriving at midnight and being asked to sit and eat fruit for 15 minutes while the over zealous attendant slowly checked us in. In the end I had to use translate to say: We want to sleep now! Location is at the edge of the top sites, there are better locations but maybe more expensive.

The owner was super friendly and helpful. Great location, delicious breakfast. You feel comfortable to stay in this place. The bed was super comfortable.

A handsome, affordable, and well-situated hotel in Bukhara run by two brothers, one of whom speaks excellent English. From start to finish, they were warm and very accommodating, making this one of my nicest stays in Uzbekistan.
