Old Gate Family Guest House

Breakfast was delicious! The family was really sweet and made us feel very comfortable, and the owner was especially kind and well spoken! The lodging and room was clean and beautiful!

The shower water wasn’t hot, but that’s okay!

Fantastic location literally right next to the ark of bukhara (my room had a balcony view of it too) and also steps away from the main mosques/plaza. Immaculately clean rooms with both heating and a/c, toiletries, etc. Breakfast was sumptuous. The family that runs this hotel is also very friendly and helpful. There's also a friendly and cute cat that wanders about from time to time (but never disturbs you if you don't want to) as an added bonus.

Nothing need to improve

This family-run hotel at the edge of Bukhoro‘s Old Town offers nicely decorated rooms and delicious (!) breakfast. The highlight definitely is the personal contact and chat with the family, from the father to the sons, wifes and children, making you feel part at home, part in a hotel. Our special requests (taxi, half-day excursion) were all met. Also, some of the staff speak excellent English. Overall, good value for money.

If you occupy rooms on rhe ground floor, noise can be a bit of an issue, due to the construction and setup of the house. I recomnend to book rooms upstairs. Replacing the doors for better isolated-ones would probably help.

This is an old building, a museum in itself, with many beautiful art objects and a charming atmosphere. Staff is great, extremely friendly. The location is right next to the Ark and verY close to the tower, madrasah and mosque. Breakfast is very plentyful and tasty. My room was beautiful and cosy and the bathroom had all amenities I needed. All in all I can give a five-star rating and unconditional recommendation!
