Hostal Doña Mercedes

Staff was helpful, kind and attentive. Beautiful garden and courtyard. Although this was the first town where we found overall folks to be unwelcoming, this hostel was a little ray of sunshine and welcoming.

The staff are super lovely. Probably the nicest people I've ever met at a hostel. Great location The cute dining/garden area is really nice. Plenty of common space to hang out/work. Also love the included breakfast.

One bathroom/toilet and they are in the same space so first thing in the morning can get a bit desperate. I stayed in the dorm at the front of the hostel and it was super noisy. Music, conversations, cars and beeping all through the night. I didn't get much sleep at all. My bed was comfortable though.

Location was perfect and central. Staff were so nice and very helpful - the main asset of the experience. I organised my waterfall tour from the hostel which was affordable and highly recommended. I was able to cook on one occasion which was nice. The breakfast was excellent. Comfy beds and common area. Overall highly recommend.

It isn't a hugely social hostel, but juayua isn't a party town nor is it what you go there for, just to manage expectations. Not a negative just a comment. Note: i was there mid-week so this could also be a factor.

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast (although there could be a bit of variety in it), lovely inner courtyard to hang out, fair kitchen to use. Feels like home.

We stayed in a triple room that was quite dark and crowded with furniture so it would’ve been very difficult with 3 people. There were no hooks so we had to hang our wet towels on the television. We did one laundry with them which was fast but not that great.
