Hidden Lake Cottages Sigiriya

Lovely cottage. Fabulous hosts who looked after us marvellously. Very attentive and friendly. Breakfast each morning was amazing as was the evening meal that they cooked for us. Helpful recommending places to visit and eat as well as arranging transport or taking us themselves. Would definitely atay again. Thank you.

My partner and I are from India and we recently travelled to srilanka and we stayed at Hidden lake cottages in Sigiriya which is maintained by Mrs Chandi and her husband, Mr. Mahesh.She is one of the most welcoming people I've ever met. Our trip in general was great but their hospitality was what made it all the more memorable. We were travelling from Trincomalee and we got the opportunity of spotting some elephants in Hurulu eco park right after we reached Sigiriya. We hadn't even reached the resort yet she cared enough to call and check on us and even volunteered to reveal the actual prices of the safari so that we don't get scammed. But the highlight of the stay was none of this. I can't thank her enough for the food she prepared for us. It was a true Srilankan experience if you ask me. I'm a vegetarian and I've never been more in love with the food while travelling out of India - don't worry, the non veg was exceptional as well. The variety of curries, hoppers, sambhal you name it and she made it all for us. I definitely am going back for this very reason. It was like visiting a relative's house who truly cares about you. Travelling within the city became super seamless as she helped us with everything. And another highlight of the stay was the cute kittens that were in the cottage. I had an amazing time here and would strongly recommend this place to whoever is visiting Sigiriya.

Beautiful setting, with our own private pool. Lots of birds. Owners gave us a late breakfast after we had returned from climbing Lions rock.

Overbooking ! . Le logement était occupé lorsque nous sommes arrivés. Le propriétaire a préféré laisser le logement au locataire précédent qui souhaitait rester quelques jours de plus dans la région plutôt que d'honorer la réservation que nous avions faite sur booking.com. De plus, il a menti en signalant à booking.com que l'on ne s'était pas présenté. Propriétaire pas fiable. A éviter. Finalement, pour le même prix, nous avons eu la chance de trouver un meilleur hébergement avec une vraie piscine plutôt qu'une pataugeoire.
