Rainforest River Bay

1. Het uitzicht was fantastisch!!!! 2. Dicht bij het regenwoud. 3. Gastheer/vrouw. Vriendelijke mensen. Je voelde je er echt welkom. 4. Lekker ontbijt en diner! Ik raad dit aan. 5. De kamer was zeer ruim en met 2 overdekte terrassen had je een prachtig uitzicht. De kamers waren wel niet volledig afgesloten. Maar er was een (propere) klamboe aanwezig. Voor ons was dit perfect! En het bed was zeer breed. 6. Hygiëne. Nette kamer en badkamer. 7. Prijskwaliteit ten top. 8. Kennen veel van vogels en de omgeving. Super leuk! 9. Regelden voor ons lastminute nog een ochtendwandeling. We mochten na de wandeling nog ontbijten en iets later uitchecken. Daarvoor dank! 10. Parking voor je tuktuk.

1. De weg er naar toe is uitdagend. En mocht nog iets beter aangegeven worden. 2. In de buurt een hondje met schurft. Geen idee of deze al werd behandeld. Maar mag gerust gebeuren. Tip: zet een potje voor donaties om voor de dieren te zorgen. Wij hadden alvast iets in het potje gestoken. 3. Dat we er maar 2 nachten verbleven... Het hadden er gerust meer mogen zijn!

Unforgettable stay in a very cozy place connected with a visit to rain forest, guided by the owner of the apartment. Very tasty food. What more could you want?

The location is amazing - probably my favourite location in Sri Lanka yet, with a beautiful balcony view of the rainforest. The WiFi is very fast, and the food is fantastic.

Nothing at all to dislike - though it is worth mentioning that the last 200m of road leading up to the house, maybe a little too narrow for some cars. That said, the owner of the property will happily come down and pick you and your luggage up in a tuk-tuk.

What an experience. The room was beautiful and perfect for the three of us. The bathroom felt very luxury and the shower was very good. The family prepared a lovely dinner of curries for us which was one of the best curries we have had. The breakfast was also lovely and we all left very full of food. The rainforest tour was amazing and swimming under a waterfall was a real highlight. This trip is a must

We had a truly delightful and unforgettable stay at Rainforest River Bay. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, it was the perfect place to relax and reconnect with the environment. The family room was just as described—clean, cozy, and impeccably tidy, exactly like the photos. What made our stay even more special was the delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food we were treated to, including traditional Aurudu sweets that added a lovely festive touch. The hosts are a generous, warm-hearted, and incredibly friendly family who go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. Their kindness and hospitality made our experience truly memorable. Friendly staff and nice location. Delicious food.

The access road to the car park is narrow. A car with low ground clearance won't be able to reach the destination. The owner had cancelled my booking as no show on last morning. When inquired about it they mentioned that it was a mistake.

Very friendly owners, and they made us best food we had in Sri Lanka for good price (1500lkr p/p) - don’t miss on that! Clean&comfortable place :)

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

Our stay at the Rainforest River Bay was amazing! The family is really nice and helped us with everything. The food and tea was exceptional. We did a tour through the rainforest with Kasun (the owner of the guesthouse). He has a huge knowledge about the forest, its plants and animals. Thank you for the lovely weekend we really enjoyed it!!
