Pondok IJo Guesthouse

We were fortunate to stay in some great places in Indonesia and this was one of them. What made this trip though was how lovely the staff were. The young lady there was just so upbeat and cheerful and genuinely seemed to enjoy interacting with guests. We loved the long opening hours for the swimming pool and the pool was lovely and clean (6am to 10pm). I saw someone cleaning it at least once a day. The breakfast was superb and very yummy. The location was ideal for us and it is down a quiet street so you get away from any noise factors.

Property is a little tired, bathroom not great but for us this wasn't an issue and we loved it for the other factors.

Nice decoration in the room, awesome breakfast, nice personal. Peaceful ambience, like in a little jungle in the middle of the city. Good air conditioning.

Few ants (2 or 3), but we had some food in the room with us, so maybe they just came for that. By shower you have to wait at about 2 minutes until the water gets warm, but after that it was completely OK.

The place is in a good location and offers some calmness away from the traffic. There is a swimming pool, friendly staff, and good breakfasts. The superior rooms are also very pleasantly designed.

If the superior rooms are very nice, there is a big gap with the standard room. The standard rooms lacked proper airflow, and general cleanness. It's also a bit tedious to deal with the numbers of ants at times. It is suitable for a single traveler able to compromise a bit, and not willing to spend a lot of time in his room.

The staff was amazing. They were super friendly and even helped us book and pick up traintickets. On the morning of departure we even got a breakfast box when we left at 5 in the morning. They do everything they can to make your stay amazing.

We got the budget room and you shouldn’t expect to much of it. It’s a decent room for when you’re mostly out and about in the city or exploring.
