The Limes Guest House

Das B&B liegt sehr zentral in Montrose und trotzdem ruhig in einer Seitenstraße. Wir wurden von der Wirtin sehr herzlich empfangen, auch die verspätete Ankunft war kein Problem. Das Haus ist schon etwas älter und hat Charme. Manchem Detail sieht man das Alter an, die Besitzer versuchen aber (in kleinen Schritten) zu renovieren. So sind die Blumentapeten auf den Bildern bei Booking.com inzwischen zeitgemäßen Farben gewichen. Das Frühstücksbuffet sieht auf den ersten Blick etwas dürftig aus, aber letztendlich ist alles da und man darf hier nicht das Buffet eines Businesshotels erwarten. Das auf Wunsch zusätzliche erhältliche "Cooking Breakfast" wird frisch und indivuduell zubereitet - und ist vorallem sehr lecker. Die Gastgeberin ist vielleicht zwischendurch etwas unorganisiert, dafür aber sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns bei Ihr sehr wohlgefühlt und würden hier auch bei einem Besuch in der Gegend wieder gerne übernachten.

Die Qualität des WLANs ist sehr schwankend und könnte heute sicher besser sein.

Jen was very friendly, the building was lovely and the en-suite bathroom was clean and comfortable!

The room was a little tight but easily solved with a rearrangement of furniture. The TV needs to be lower down, we had to put our glasses on to change the channel.

For a simple guest house it has a lot more than you might imagine. Large guestrooms / bathrooms,, a lovely lounge with sympathetic furniture, lots of books and lots of space. There is space to sit outside the guest house when the sun shines. Jen is a lovely, hardworking host with lots of ideas and knowledge of local facilities.

Muchas escaleras a la habitación. Esperaba tres camas y solo había dos.

Jen was pleasant hostess & obliging in that she let me have the ground floor single room as I have a knee problem but the single bed & duvet were not very comfy & upon turning over the duvet slipped off the small bed not making fie arestful sleep The carpet was quite stained & smelt . The hot tap washer needed attention & I was told no breakfast was available! I left after 2 nights & saw that a breakfast menu for 4 guests had been filled in for the next day in the reception guest book?? My room was not cleaned & towels not changed. The location was good but area & surroundings not great! Therefore I was very disappointed. Such a shame as a beautiful historical building requiring a spruce up.
