Namal Stay

Clean quiet rooms with very friendly owners (who we sadly did not meet until the last day because they were busy helping some other guests). We got the impression that if you stayed here for longer you really would become part of the family. The room was small but had everything we needed, including a mosquito net, and was excellent value for money. The views from the rooftop restaurant was sublime. The hotel is a little far from the town/ the beach but I can imagine that living right by the beach could be noisy and hectic. The walk is a bit hot and dusty and if you are nervous walking along the road then you should probably get a tuktuk.

We had an absolutely amazing time staying with Namal and his family. We felt really comfortable, everything was clean and the outdoor area always invited us to spot different wildlife like birds and monkeys. But the most important thing to mention is that Namal and his family are the kindest people you can imagine. They always looked after us, welcomed us every morning with a coffee or tea and we also had one home cooked dinner from his wife which was absolutely delicious. Furthermore, they have a rooftop with an amazing view over Weligama. We can highly recommend this place and will definitely come back soon.

Namal and his family are devoted to making sure you have a beautiful stay on their property. They welcomed me as though I was family. Right from the airport, I felt safe, supported and grateful to be guided to Weligama by Namal. In any way you need during your stay, he will help guide you. At Namal Stay, there is a beautiful space on the roof to do yoga in the morning or evening and a restaurant area with a stunning view for brunch or dinner, relaxation or wi-fi work. If you eat there, they will make sure you are well fed with delicious tropical fruits, local vegetables, rice and more. The location is an easy walk to the beach to surf, yoga studios to practice, or nearby cafes to relax or work. Namal is also happy to take you in his tuk tuk to show you the beaches or take you anywhere you desire near or far in the tuk tuk or van. I highly recommend staying here. I look forward to visiting again soon.

You feel very well looked after at Namal Stay. The room has all you need, the bed is big and comfy, AC works perfectly, sheets and towels are fresh. You can have dinner on the terrace and it’s very good and 100% local and homemade. Namal offers tuk tuk services and a lot of advice (also tours are possible) and he is a very honest man.
