"Friendly, quiet, & relaxing - and baby rabbits playing on the lawn at breakfast 🐇💜🐇"

Lovely place to stay, beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside. The hosts Nathan & Kate are super friendly, welcoming and make you feel completely at home. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and they catered for me as a vegan ❤️ Would definitely stay here again.

Always a warm welcome. Great location. Breakfast is really good and sets you up for the day. We've been going back each year and will continue to do so. We would highly recommend Gages Mill as ideal in all respects. Nathan and Kate are perfect hosts.

"Gages Mill"

9.0

Kate & Nathan made us very welcome in their lovely home. Our twin room was very clean & the beds very comfortable. Small ensuite was also very clean and shower excellent. Plenty of tea & coffee & biscuits in the room every day with kettle and nice big mugs. Breakfast was also very tasty and consisted of choice of cereal, yoghurt & cooked breakfast, pastries. Although no TV in the bedroom, there is a nice lounge to sit & watch the TV, or read. Ideal location for the moors, Ashburton is close by and a lovely Devon town with a variety of shops, cafes & pubs. We would have no hesitation recommending Gages Mill and would definitely stay there again if holidaying in that area again.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about staying at Gages Mill.

Recommended for Dartmoor and all the coastal bits of the South Hams. Great breakfast choice. Had our best meal out for ages at Emilia's in Ashburton

Approachable and friendly staff who greeted us by going outside to meet us at the car park. The house is an old mill with a lot of history and it's a beautiful building, which has been refurbished and it really nice to stay at. We had everything we needed. The breakfast is ordered on the night before, which is great because we preferred preselecting what we wanted beforehand. It was tasty and filling and lots of options available as well as tea, coffee, juice, milk and cereal. The room has everything we needed: coffee, tea, kettle and some biscuits etc as well as basic toiletries. The house was nice and warm throughout with a termostat in each room to set to your liking. the house is a short walk from a restaurant and a petrol station and a relatively short walk from Ashburton - we enjoyed the walk in nature and seeing the town, but you can also walk up to the river. The bed was good, with two types of pillows available and an option to ask for more. I liked being able to pick soft and hard pillows. Wifi was reliable and if you'd like to watch TV you can do so in the cosy lounge at the front of the house. It felt very cosy but we weren't fussed about TV. Whenever we came down, it was very easy to find the staff, who were always around when we needed. The house was always locked so we felt safe. We stayed for an event in Plymouth - it was an easy drive from Ashburton as it's placed close to the main road and much nicer than staying in the city.

Our stay was short, so we didn't enjoy the surrounding nature as much as we'd want to.
